Thirty years ago, desperation drove Elizabeth McCarthy to do the unthinkable when she abandoned her infant daughter, Layla, to the care of her mother. Now, after years of trying to outrun the memories and the guilt, Beth has come home to Shellwater Key to make amends. She has survived deadbeat relationships, becoming a single mother, and cancer, but now faces the most difficult battle of her life…finding a way to connect with the legendary mother she was never able to please…and earning the forgiveness of the daughter who has every reason to hate her. She might even have a chance to find the missing piece of her heart when Layla’s father arrives in town looking for answers.

It’s the story of a woman who has been broken by life, and by illness, and who now only wants to make things right. A story about discovering that it’s never too late to find true love…or more accurately…find the true love that slipped away.

If (Carmichael): Devotional Edition
In this small book, If, Amy Carmichael asks little questions that, if examined in the Spirit, pack a big punch. Each question provides an opportunity to consider our motives and align our thoughts, attitudes and actions with those of Christ. How can we teach others the way of the cross if we don’t first allow the Lord to deal with us?
A relevant Bible verse and prayer follow each “if” question in this edition. The intent is that it would be used as a daily devotional and a launching pad for deeper study and prayer for the edification of the reader.

The Secrets of Biblical Wisdom: Unleashing the Power of Heavenly Insight in Your Life
When facing life problems, Christians ask God for help, for blessings, for miracles, for intervention. Rarely do they ask for the one thing that can solve the majority of their problems wisdom. While wisdom is valued, it is rarely sought after. It is attributed to Solomon and relegated to Old Testament days. Yet the Bible tells us that wisdom is still calling us today (Proverbs 8:1).
Kyle Searcy, respected leader and pastor, has experienced the favor and blessing of wisdom in his own life. Here he shares the secrets to unlocking the power of wisdom, guiding believers along the path of acquiring and harnessing spiritual wisdom. Through personal examples, stories, Scriptures, and biblical examples, he shows how possessing wisdom produces, among other things, favor, special skills, and wealth. Each chapter ends with practical actions to assist readers in pursuing wisdom and enjoying its benefits in their personal situations.

Same-Sex Attraction and the Church: The Surprising Plausibility of the Celibate Life
Tim Challies’ Top Books of 2015
ProdigalThought.net’s Top Reads of 2015
Leadership Journal’s Best Ministry Books of the Year
When Christians have same-sex attraction, how should the church respond?
Pastor Ed Shaw experiences same-sex attraction, and yet he is committed to Scripture and the church’s traditional position of fidelity in heterosexual marriage and celibacy in singleness. In this honest book, he shares his pain in dealing with these issues, but at the same time shows us that obedience to Jesus is ultimately the only way to experience life to the full.
He shows that the Bible’s teaching seems unreasonable not because of its difficulties, but because of missteps that the church has often taken in its understanding of the Christian life. We have been shaped by the world around us and urgently need to re-examine the values that drive our discipleship. Only by doing this in the light of the Bible can we make sense of its call on the lives of those who are attracted to their own sex.

It should be noted that “The Korihor Argument” is not Christian at all. It is a morman missionary’s journey out of Mormonism but into atheism. The Christian reader will find much to disagree with here. I was surprised to find it featured on this site at all and was disappointed to have spent even .99 on it.
I am very sorry to hear this! We do try hard to be selective about our books and keep a Christian outlook. We use titles listed under the Christian Nonfiction/Christian tags on Amazon but sometimes those are not always accurate. 🙁 I have removed the book and am sorry to have inconvenienced you.
