Bootcamp for Lousy Housekeepers
“As someone who has tried them all (and I really do mean “all”…), I have to thank you for your book. The other programs all have some very valuable things to offer…But your approach works best for me because 1) I love the focus on pleasing God and fulfilling our calling 2) the daily focus blocks and maintenance blocks break the tasks into manageable sub-sets 3) it’s delightfully old-fashioned and sensible to establish a rhythm for our days and group similar chores together so you can say, as you wrote in your book, “Good has been done here,” plan ahead knowing what each day will hold, and rest in the knowledge that everything will be taken care of 4) it’s flexible and you can tailor the lists to your needs, and 5) there aren’t any emails to keep up with or products to buy…I also really appreciate the encouragement and motivation. This is a well-written book that speaks to me like a sister or friend. For anyone who is overwhelmed looking at the lists, just remember that things are broken out step-by-step, but you can reduce the number of items on the lists by simplifying (for example, “clean bathroom” instead of “spray tub, scrub toilets, clean windows” etc.). Also, you don’t have to be a stay-at-home mom to use this system. I am a working mom out of necessity and I just shorten the daily focus block to half an hour to an hour, have a morning and evening routine, and one daily maintenance block that involves a five-minute clean-up in each room, and am grateful for what I do get done instead of dwelling on what I don’t get done… I highly recommend Bootcamp for anyone looking for a doable plan for household management. Thank you, Heidi, for a wonderful system!” – Cheyenne
“Bootcamp for Lousy Housekeepers has helped me break down the task of running a household into manageable pieces. Unlike other books, this gives step-by-step guidance in setting up a system AND the how-to’s of actually getting things clean and keeping them that way. It’s a homemaker’s goldmine of information about everything from menu-planning, cleaning, organizing, and so much more.” – Amy
“We had someone come over for a meeting. I did not panic. I did not spend all day madly cleaning. I did not hide laundry in my room. I said, “Cool”. I love Bootcamp!” – Sharon
“Bootcamp for Lousy Housekeepers is the perfect book for homemakers who want to do better, but have no idea where to start. It revolutionized my understanding of how to conquer the dirty house beast and gave me the vision for where I wanted to end up. This book is not a gimmick or a magic pill, but the guide that takes the thinking and planning out of working smarter. I cannot recommend this book enough!” – Adrienne
“This is one book that NEEDS to be in every housekeeper’s home, or should I say in every home. It really will work if you put the small amount of effort in it in the beginning.” – Theresa

Forks Over Knives: The Plant-Based Way to Health
For decades, that question has fascinated a small circle of impassioned doctors and researchers—and now, their life-changing research is making headlines in the hit documentary Forks Over Knives. Their answer? Eat a whole-foods, plant-based diet—it could save your life.
It may overturn most of the diet advice you’ve heard—but the experts behind Forks Over Knives aren’t afraid to make waves. In his book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn explained that eating meat, dairy, and oils injures the lining of our blood vessels, causing heart disease, heart attack, or stroke. In The China Study, Dr. Colin Campbell revealed how cancer and other diseases skyrocket when eating meat and dairy is the norm—and plummet when a traditional plant-based diet persists. And more and more experts are adding their voices to the cause: There is nothing else you can do for your health that can match the benefits of a plant-based diet.
Now, as Forks Over Knives is introducing more people than ever before to the plant-based way to health, this accessible guide provides the information you need to adopt and maintain a plant-based diet. Features include:
Insights from the luminaries behind the film—Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. John McDougall, The Engine 2 Diet author Rip Esselstyn, and many others
Success stories from converts to plant-based eating—like San’Dera Prude, who no longer needs to medicate her diabetes, has lost weight, and feels great!
The many benefits of a whole-foods, plant-based diet—for you, for animals and the environment, and for our future
A helpful primer on crafting a healthy diet rich in unprocessed fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains, including tips on transitioning and essential kitchen tools
125 recipes from 25 champions of plant-based dining—from Blueberry Oat Breakfast Muffins and Sunny Orange Yam Bisque to Garlic Rosemary Polenta and Raspberry-Pear Crisp—delicious, healthy, and for every meal, every day.
