Ali shares easy practical tips that any busy mom can quickly incorporate into her daily life. Ali’s difficult childhood experiences that she vulnerably shares creates a deep connection with her reader and frankly, leaves you with the feeling, “If Ali can overcome all that she has to enjoy her life, I can achieve it too”. Hot Mess to Mindful mom will inspire you to face your childhood wounds with the help of meditation and mindfulness over Ambien and Xanax. This is a must read for moms on the path to mindfulness and more joy.”
Randi Rubenstien, Life and Parenting Coach
“Hot Mess To Mindful Mama will make you say ‘I thought I was the only one.’ and leave you feeling like you’ve gained a BFF!”
Emily A.
“I’m not usually a fan of traditional self-help books, but “Hot Mess to Mindful Mom” had me laughing and sympathizing with the author from chapter one. This is one of the first books I’ve read on mindfulness and gratitude that’s willing to admit just how hard it can be to be thankful and happy when surrounded by chaos. Katz is funny, real, and relatable, providing practical (and actually achievable) advice on how to let go and enjoy life, even on the days it doesn’t seem very enjoyable.”

You Be Sweet: Sharing Your Heart One Down-Home Dessert at a Time
A highly recommended book for bakers of all skills.
These are the types of food traditions that inspire You Be Sweetùa celebration of Southern dessert recipes and the people who cherish them. The blackberry jelly recipe that has graced Mason jars all over the South for decades? ItÆs here, and itÆs just about the best hostess gift you can offer up. Be sweet? You wonÆt be able to help it!

At the Scent of Water (The Second Chances Collection Book #3)
I live near the area where the story is supposed to have taken place. Linda Nichols captured the setting truly and beautifully.

But a disturbing headline takes her back home, where memories of both joy and sorrow come flooding back. What will it take to heal two broken hearts?

I think this is an overall nice addition to your weeknight cooking shelf. As always, I am touched by Jordan’s commitment to families. This is the kind of cooking you share with your neighbor over the fence, at church, or in line at the supermarket.
Conceived and written to reflect the reality of today’s hectic schedules—and the need to gather around the dinner table—Come Home to Supper offers more than 200 deeply satisfying dishes that are budget-minded, kid-friendly, and quick. These are the everyday meals that Christy Jordan most loves to cook, and her family most loves to eat, and she serves them up with generous helpings of her folksy wisdom, gratitude, and lively stories.
Many of the recipes make ingenious use of the slow cooker or a single pot or skillet; require easily found supermarket ingredients; and are packed with time-saving tips and shortcuts. And the menu, well, it’s all good, includingCrispy Breaded Pork Chops with Milk Gravy, Beef and Broccoli,Spicy Fried Chicken,Craving Beans, Summer Corn Salad, Slow Cooker Baked Apples,Ice Cream Rolls, andCinnamon Pudding Cobbler. Or to put it like Christy Jordan, food to make your family “smile louder.”

Be Still My Soul: The Cadence of Grace, Book 1
I’d highly recommend Be Still My Soul to anyone who enjoys a good romantic Christian novel.
Pretty Lonnie Sawyer is shy and innocent, used to fading into the background within her family, and among the creeks and hollows of the Appalachian hills. Though her family is poor and her father abusive, she clings to a quiet faith. But when handsome ladies’ man and bluegrass musician Gideon O’Riley steals a kiss, that one action seals her fate.
Her father forces her into a hasty marriage with Gideon—a man she barely knows and does not love. Equally frustrated and confused by his new responsibilities, Gideon yearns for a fresh start, forcing Lonnie on an arduous journey away from her home in Rocky Knob.
Her distant groom can’t seem to surrender his rage at the injustice of the forced matrimony or give Lonnie any claim in his life. What will it take for Gideon to give up his past, embrace Lonnie’s God, and discover a hope that can heal their two fractured hearts?
Gideon only ever cared about himself. Now that Lonnie is his wife, will he ever be worthy of her heart?

Good story that it is, Composing Amelia not without areas that could be controversial and challenging to those who prefer very sanitized stories. However, if you long for fiction that points to God and tells the truth about we complicated and challenging humans who need Him, get a copy.
Newlyweds Amelia and Marcus Sheffield are recent college grads, trying to stay afloat in LA while searching for their dream jobs. Marcus hopes to become a mega-church pastor. Amelia has an esteemed music degree, and longs to play piano professionally. The Sheffields are clearly city people.
But when a small town church offers Marcus a job, the couple’s dedication to their dreams and each other is tested. After a risky compromise is made, Amelia falls into a dark emotional place, where she finds skeletons she’d fought hard to deny. In desperation, she calls out to God. But why can’t she find Him? While Amelia struggles, Marcus learns news that nearly crushes him. He must lean on his faith to withstand the pressure… or risk losing his wife forever.
