Men and Women: Enjoying the Difference
I believe the book causes you to look at yourself more than it describes the differences between men and women. It breaks down the traditional view versus the egalitarian view of relationships between men and women in the church. It also causes you to search for any selfishness within you that may be causing friction in your relationships.
In Men & Women, bestselling author Dr. Larry Crabb maintains that men and women are different in important ways that, if understood and honored, can lead to a deep enjoyment of one another—an enjoyment that can last forever.
What does it take to get along for a lifetime? According to Crabb, men and women share a deadly problem that kills good relating. The problem is this: we are committed, first of all, to ourselves. Each of us, without blushing, holds fast to an overriding concern for our own well-being.
Sharing people’s stories and personal anecdotes, Crabb explores how we can turn away from ourselves and toward each other, becoming what he calls “other-centered.”

On Calvary’s Hill: 40 Readings for the Easter Season
True to his calling Max has come to the aid of those searching for meaning in the events of Easter in their lives.. It was inspirational and uplifting.
It’s early in the final week. The props and players for Friday’s drama are in position. Five-inch spikes are in the bin. A cross-beam leans against a shed wall. The players are nearing the stage–Pilate, Annas and Caiaphas, Judas, the centurions.
Players and props. Only this is no play; it’s a divine plan. A plan begun before Adam felt heaven’s breath, and now all heaven waits and watches. All eyes are on one figure–the Nazarene.
Commonly clad. Uncommonly focused. He’s on his final journey.
Join bestselling author Max Lucado in an exploration of the final days in the life of Christ. Draw near to the Savior and prepare to celebrate the greatest miracle ever conceived.

The main thing I pulled out of this book was look for opportunities to bring up Jesus in your everyday routine with your kids. It doesn’t have to be some drawn out 3 point sermon you give them, but know and be able to articulate what you believe to your children.
Here’s help with responding in words your little one will understand. Leading Your Child to Jesus equips you with the simple, effective communication tools that will help you discuss salvation with your child. They’ve been proven through David Staal’s years with Willow Creek Community Church’s Promiseland children’s ministry and through his personal experiences as a parent.
Learn how to share you own salvation story, explain the gospel in kid-friendly language, and lead your child in a prayer of salvation. Based on examples from the book of Acts, Leading Your Child to Jesus provides you with key biblical concepts on effective communication and includes exercises to help you put those concepts into action.
The enormity of leading your child to Christ doesn’t have to leave you tongue-tied. You can help your little one make the most important decision of his or her life—the decision to follow Jesus.

The Homeplace (Singing River Series Book 1)
Very good— I’ve read a lot of Gilbert Morris books and this one wasn’t so predictable. It had some depth and leaves you with a nice ending that makes you want to read the next one. After reading several other christian novelists i’d have to say Morris is the best.
Fourteen-year-old Lanie Belle Freeman of Fairhope, Arkansas, has high hopes for her future. Happy on the five-acre family homeplace, she dreams of going to college and becoming a writer. And with her father launching a new business and her mother expecting the fifth baby, the bright days of an early Southern spring seem to herald expansive new beginnings for the Freeman family.
But her mother isn’t as strong as she should be, and it’s going to take time for the business to pay back the mortgage. When unexpected tragedy strikes, it is left to Lanie to keep the family together and hold on to their home. In a world shaken by the Great Depression, it is faith in God and love in a tightly knit family that will help Lanie and her siblings overcome the odds and create a future that promises the fulfillment of love.
The Homeplace offers a warmhearted and inspiring saga of a courageous young woman who holds her family together through the Depression era.

Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana
The characters are fun and humorous, yet are quite believable, which made this story a great read. At it’s heart, it’s a story of the longing of the heart for family and a place to call home. It’s a witty and uplifting book which reminds us that home is where the heart is.

Bath, England 1810
At twenty-eight, Alethea Sutherton is past her prime for courtship; but social mores have never been her forté. She might be a lady, but she is first and foremost a musician.
In Regency England, however, the violin is considered an inappropriate instrument for a lady. Ostracized by society for her passion, Alethea practices in secret and waits for her chance to flee to the Continent, where she can play without scandal.
But when a thief ‘s interest in her violin endangers her and her family, Alethea is determined to discover the enigmatic origins of her instrument … with the help of the dark, brooding Lord Dommick.
Scarred by war, Dommick finds solace only in playing his violin. He is persuaded to help Alethea, and discovers an entirely new yearning in his soul.
Alethea finds her reluctant heart drawn to Dommick in the sweetest of duets . . . just as the thief’s desperation builds to a tragic crescendo . . .
