Let God Change Your Life: How to Know and Follow Jesus
If your Christian life seems flat and boring, then reenergize it. Pick up a copy of Greg Laurie’s book, LET GOD CHANGE YOUR LIFE today.
Imagine what it would have been like to be a follower of Jesus; first-century Christians walked away from their old lives just to be where He was. What they learned, sitting at His feet, was discipleship. And when His work on earth was done, first-century Christians took His words and example and spread out, teaching the gospel to everyone.
The good news is that we, too, can participate in this lifestyle. Laurie drills it down in three simple ideas: get to know Jesus, follow His plan for discipleship, and use it to tell others what we know. Laurie’s tone is clear, direct, and biblical.

Once Again: An inspirational novel of history, mystery, & romance (The Rewinding Time Series Book 1)
The story is full of romantic tension, but it looks like we have to wait for next instalment to see how it works out. I for one am looking forward to it.
Field Research Location:
Columbia and Waterloo, Monroe County, Illinois.
Goal:
Discover where Fort Piggot was located on the Kaskaskia Trail, while staying clear of attractive, single colleagues (ie. Brett!) so as not to commit career suicide, while also keeping the “rewinding time” program secret, so Uncle Sam doesn’t turn into Big Brother.
Merrideth Randall’s day job is teaching history at McKendree College. But after hours she turns to her first love, historical research. And she has a tool other historians can only dream of—a computer program that rewinds time!
Merrideth makes a virtual visit to the 1780s, hoping to be the first to locate Fort Piggot. Along the way, she gets a first-hand look at the lives of the courageous pioneers of the Illinois Country, who withstood Indian attacks, hardship, and loneliness to settle the rich land.
One of the settlers is James Garretson, who risks his life to take the Gospel to the very tribe that wreaked havoc on his family. Merrideth is amazed that he could forgive a crime so huge. Hero or fool, James Garretson is the ancestor of her colleague Brett, a physics professor at McKendree College.
With her findings, Merrideth is able to help Brett with his genealogy, but she can’t tell him everything she learned—like that he inherited his black hair and green eyes from James Garretson, or that his aunt’s poetry is eerily similar to the verse Garretson’s wife Isabelle used to compose at her spinning wheel.
Brett has rock-star status on campus, but amazingly enough, he seems to be pursuing Merrideth—in spite of her firm policy against dating co-workers. She would love to tell him about her amazing program, but discretion is not his strong suit. She has secrets about herself that she’d just as soon he didn’t find out either. One virtue Brett does have is patience, and he’s quite willing to wait for Merrideth to figure things out.

The Bargain (Plain City Peace Book 1)
The Bargain was my first book that I read that was written by Stephanie Reed. I truly loved it. Stephanie Reed had me on the edge of my seat with her page turning book, that you want to read it straight through to the end.
When their parents flee the Amish, nineteen-year-old Betsie and her seventeen-year-old sister Sadie are distraught. Under the dubious guidance of a doting aunt, the girls struggle to keep the secret, praying their parents will return before anyone learns the truth—a truth that may end all hopes of Betsie’s marriage to Charley Yoder.
Worse still, Betsie must learn a trade while she boards with a dysfunctional Englisher family: Sheila, a twelve-year-old desperately searching for a friend and in dire need of her mother; the free-spirited mother, who runs off to “find herself” on the stage; the angry father whose structured life crumbles; and Michael, a troubled college dropout nearly killed in the Kent State Massacre.
Thrust into the English world, Betsie must grapple with the realities of war and miniskirts, pot parties and police brutality, protests and desertion. Can she help the Sullivan family and find peace in her new surroundings, or must she forget the bargain she made and seek refuge back in Plain City with protective and reliable Charley?

Could he be the perfect man to one day rule beside her and oversee her parents’ lands?
Then Rosemarie is summoned back to her castle in haste. The disease has spread, and her family is threatened. And the secret she discovers when she returns could change her future forever.
This novella also serves as a prequel to Jody Hedlund’s An Uncertain Choice.

The Poems and Prayers of Helen Steiner Rice
I would gladly recommend this publication to everyone. The words are a real source of inspiration for any and every occasion and situation.
Helen Steiner Rice rose beyond tragedy and disappointment to inspire millions. Over eight decades, she penned thousands of poems and prayers to give comfort and hope through some of history’s darkest moments. In the process, she became one of the first American women to introduce faith into the workplace and popular culture.
This beautifully crafted collection includes nearly four hundred poems-sixteen of them rare and previously uncollected, and one never-before-published prayer discovered in the Helen Steiner Rice Foundation archives. Organized by topic, this book features subjects Helen returned to again and again-from musings on heaven and the beauty in nature to odes of love for friends and family. It’s a definitive volume packed with love for generations past and a hope for those to come.

I have always been a fan of Colleen Coble. Her books are quick reads and a great way to relax and enjoy a good story. From Russia With Love was no exception. The characters were real and emotional. I love it when a book makes me cry even though I know everything will work out In the end. This is escapism to be sure but very enjoyable.
Destitute and almost forced into putting her beloved daughter in a Russian orphanage, Tatiana Lazarenk chooses to come to America as the mail order bride of a man she doesn’t know. Only when she arrives does she discover the man she thought she had agreed to marry doesn’t know anything about it, thanks to his twin brother. Gabe agrees to let her stay, but he intends to send her back to Russia. His mother has other plans, and he soon finds his heart touched by little Irina and her beautiful mother. Tatiana must give all that she loves to be able to grasp this chance at love and happiness.

I just loved this book and fell in love with all the sisters but most of all I loved Granny. Yes I got upset when things happened to the sisters or their family but I laughed and cried but couldn’t put the book down.I feel that I missed all the characters since I finished the book.
Tracie Peterson is certainly a great author but this is one of her best books I have read and I have read many of her books. You should read this book.
From the dramatic tradition of such classics as Little Women and A Thousand Acres comes Tracie Peterson’s contemporary novel, A Slender Thread. Well-known for her Westward Chronicles series as well as her historical series with Judith Pella, Peterson now uses her agile storytelling skills to tackle a family saga about the bonds of sisterhood, which you will not want to miss.
United for the first time in years, five sisters return to their childhood in order to bid farewell to a mother they never knew, lost to the world that had made her a star. Knowing her only in her films, the sisters feel neither an emotional connection with her tragic death nor with each other. Only their deep love for their godly grandmother, Mattie, pulls them together.
In the wake of the funeral, the Mitchell sisters discover the impact of their absent mother on the choices they’ve made throughout their lives. A heartrending betrayal and a second tragedy threaten them further. Haunted by the past, unsure of the future, the sisters have only the example of Mattie and God’s grace reaching through her lives to make them a family.
