I’m and avid reader, and though I read this book for the first time many years ago, it’s been one of the few books I’ve read where I find myself referring to it repeatedly both in my private and public life.
With great Scriptural reverence, Gisela walks with you through the veil of brokenness and shares transparently what God has taught her through much heartache.
You will discover
Your infinite value to God
God’s purposes and methods of testing
The key to gaining new strength
How to overcome, rather than suppress, your problems

Daily Wisdom for Women 2015 Devotional Collection – January (None)
Unlike the other devotional that I bought myself it has the verses that you will be reading with the discussion right on the page. For me who isn’t that familiar with reading the bible it made it easier then locating verses in the bible itself and then reading the talking points.

Where Wildflowers Bloom (Sisters at Heart Book #1): A Novel
If you’re a lover of historical fiction, you will love the most recent Ann Shorey novel. If you’re not a historical fiction freak like myself, well get off your duffer and try this one out – you won’t be disappointed! 🙂
The Civil War stole a father and brother from Faith Lindberg–as well as Royal Baxter, the man she wanted to marry. With only her grandfather left, she dreams of leaving Noble Springs, Missouri, and traveling west to Oregon to start a new life, away from the memories that haunt her. But first she must convince her grandfather to sell the family’s mercantile and leave a town their family has called home for generations.
When Royal Baxter suddenly returns, Faith allows herself to hope that she and Royal will finally wed. But does he truly love her? Or will another man claim her heart?
“Where Wildflowers Bloom invites you to settle down over by the checkerboard at Lindberg’s Mercantile Store and get to know the people of Noble Springs as they put the sorrows of the Civil War behind them and embrace life and love anew. Ann Shorey has come up with an appealing mix of history and romance that readers are sure to enjoy.”–Ann H. Gabhart, author of The Blessed and Words Spoken True
“The authenticity of Where Wildflowers Bloom transported me straight to post-Civil War times, yet the characters–their hopes, dreams, conflicts, and fears–all rang contemporarily true. Another winner from Ann Shorey!”–Christina Berry, Christy-nominated and Carol Award-winning author of The Familiar Stranger
Ann Shorey is the author of The Edge of Light, The Promise of Morning, and The Dawn of a Dream. She has also published selections in the Cup of Comfort series and in Chicken Soup for the Grandma’s Soul. Shorey lives with her husband, Richard, in Oregon.

Couponing for the Rest of Us: The Not-So-Extreme Guide to Saving More
Well, I definitely won’t be taking it as far as those extremists do, but this book was a great encouragement to find what I feel comfortable doing and challenged me to look into easy ways to take it a step further.

When the Church Was a Family: Recapturing Jesus’ Vision for Authentic Christian Community
Joseph Hellerman’s When the Church Was a Family is one of the most important books I have read in a long time.
When the Church Was a Family calls believers back to the wisdom of the first century, examining the early Christian church from a sociohistorical perspective and applying the findings to the evangelical church in America today. With confidence, author Joseph Hellerman writes intentionally to traditional church leaders and emerging church visionaries alike, believing what is detailed here about Jesus’ original vision for authentic Christian community will deeply satisfy the relational longings of both audiences.

Love’s Sweet Beginning (Sisters at Heart Book #3): A Novel
All in all, Love’s Sweet Beginning was an enjoyable read. I liked the characters, story, and historical elements. If you enjoy historical romance novels, I think you’ll like this book.
With her signature sweet romance, Ann Shorey weaves a tale of two people from very different backgrounds finding common ground and the hopes of a bright future together.

Deanne’s books are all worth reading. Opposite characters attracted to each other are always interesting and that is the premise behind the plot of this book. There are some interesting plot turns in the book that keep you turning the pages. One of the things I like about Deanne’s books are that you always learn something new. She gives enough detail to display her historical research but usually never overdoes the process explanation
Georgie Gail, switchboard operator and birder, heads out on a birding expedition, but instead of sighting a painted bunting, her opera glasses capture her telephone man, armed and far away from telephone lines. Palmer is forced to take this alluring troublemaker into his confidence and unwittingly puts her in harm’s way. The closer he comes to the gang, the further she works her way into his heart–and into trouble. Soon it’s more than just love that’s on the line.

Then someone made her life a literary cliché. A mysterious accident with a light bulb sparked an interesting idea for her latest novel—and for Fairbury’s new serial killer. The first replication infuriated her. The second left an even worse taste in her mouth. The third blasted more than her self-confidence, and the fourth beat her down so far she’s considering giving up writing completely.
Who is killing Fairbury’s citizens, and furthermore, why and how are they using her novels to do it?

Stealing the Preacher (The Archer Brothers Book #2)
Overall, Stealing the Preacher was such a good read and I completely recommend it to fans of historical romance novels. I am eagerly awaiting Karen Witemeyer’s next book! 🙂
On his way to interview for a position at a church in the Piney Woods of Texas, Crockett Archer can’t believe it when he’s forced off the train by an outlaw and presented to the man’s daughter as the preacher she requested for her birthday. He’s determined to escape–which would be much easier if he could stop thinking about Joanna Robbins and her unexpected request.
For months, Joanna had prayed for a minister. A man to breathe life back into the abandoned church at the heart of her community. A man to assist her in fulfilling a promise to her dying mother. But just when it seems her prayers have been answered, it turns out the parson is there against his will and has dreams of his own calling him elsewhere. Is there any way she can convince Crockett he ended up right where he was supposed to be?
With her signature blend of humor, history, and lively western romance, two-time RITA Award finalist and bestselling author Karen Witemeyer delivers a Texas love story sure to steal your heart.
“The plot twist of stealing a preacher is interesting, fun and romantic… an enjoyable summertime read.” –RT Book Reviews
