Friendship - Four Week Mini Bible Study (Becoming Press Mini Bible Studies)

Friendship – Four Week Mini Bible Study (Becoming Press Mini Bible Studies)

Ashley Ferris

Great read! Enjoyed the study and it was very well written!

Tammy T

Let’s explore the gift of friendship- what a devoted friendship looks like, how to handle the waiting period, and how to deepen current, valued friendships.

If you are in a season where you find yourself light on friends, I want this study to be an encouragement that this season will have an expiration date.

If you are in a place where you feel you have many friends, I hope you can use this study to evaluate the depth and purpose of those friendships.

It may spur you to take risks to deepen some already beautiful friendships. It may also help you see that there are some unhealthy ties that may need to be prayed over and potentially ended.

Finally, if you have friendships that are deep, but you tend to pull away when you are confronted, I hope you will see the value that lies before you. I pray that you will endure uncomfortable conversations with deep friends (that you know have your best interests at heart) in order to grow in friendship and as a daughter of the King.

But Don't All Religions Lead to God?: Navigating the Multi-Faith Maze

But Don’t All Religions Lead to God?: Navigating the Multi-Faith Maze

Michael Green

This book is excellent reading for all believers, and for non-believers who are struggling in one or more of these areas. I recommend it highly.

David R. Bess

We’ve all heard the rationale: “It doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you’re sincere.” Or “All religions are pretty much the same.” But are they the same? Does it matter which one you follow? In this insightful and compelling book, Michael Green invites readers into a relationship with Jesus Christ, the divine revelation and only pathway to the one true God.
In a conversational style geared toward nonbelievers, Green compares Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, and other religions to help spiritual seekers navigate the multi-faith maze. “But Don’t All Religions Lead to God?” is an ideal reference and evangelism tool for churches and individual Christians as well. It offers scriptural references, looks at how divergent religious traditions view salvation and eternity, and answers difficult questions such as “What about people who have never heard of Jesus?” and “How should Christians regard other religions?”
In the midst of our pluralistic and tolerant culture, here is an important and convincing argument for faith in Jesus-the only great teacher whose death and resurrection provided grace, forgiveness, and an eternity in the presence of God.

From Anger to Intimacy Study Guide: How Forgiveness can Transform Your Marriage

Gary Smalley

I have quickly become a fan of these two authors and now own many of their most recent works thanks to being able to review them for the publisher. This one is no less impressive than the first – I have already handed it out to others I know.

All couples deal with anger and how they respond (stuff it, spew it, or study it), can make all the difference in their relationship and in their lives. Andrew returns from yet another last-minute trip, knowing he needs to make amends to Beth for his departure just days before Christmas, but he doesn’t expect her frosty greeting and the argument that ensues. Andrew would like to believe not, but it isn’t until he meets a humble, straight-talking angel in disguise named Lionel that Andrew receives the opportunity to try again.

The recipes in this book are for their familiar flavors and more. All ingredients are fresh and pure. There is plenty of unusual detail in the book.

But the best part comes next. Dastardly Mash, featuring nuts, raisins, and hunks of chocolate. The celebrated Heath Bar Crunch. New York Super Fudge Chunk. Oreo Mint. In addition to Ben & Jerry’s 11 greatest hits, here are recipes for ice creams made with fresh fruit, with chocolate, with candies and cookies, and recipes for sorbets, sundaes, and baked goods.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I’m certain it will be the first of many.

Today is your birthday…I want you to know that you are in my heart, as you always have been. I pray for you every day. I pray I did the right thing…

The Pepper In The Gumbo: A Cane River Romance

The Pepper In The Gumbo: A Cane River Romance

Mary Jane Hathaway

This book really took me by surprise. I was expecting an easy read with predictable characters. Not the case at all. The characters were rich and funny, good and bad. They ran the gambit of emotions and seemed very real and relatable. You really become invested in the characters. The story also took many twists and turns and this was a wonderful read. I couldn’t wait to get to the next page and the next chapter. I never could get to a good stopping point and it kept me up until I just had to close my eyes for the night. It was one of those books that I hated getting to the end.

Theresa Woodruff

Alice Augustine runs the oldest bookstore in the historic district of Natchitoches and believes technology is the root of most problems. If only more people would turn off the Tv and shut down the computer, the world wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in. If only she can get the teens she loves to step away from the screens and hold on to their Creole culture. The only person who seems to understand her passion for classic literature is the mysterious website owner, Browning Wordsworth Keats.

Paul Olivier comes back to his home town determined to show the people of Cane River that he’s not the poor, nerdy kid he once was. He’s made a fortune designing video games and opening a giant electronics store right in the snooty historic district will be the crowning glory of his career. Unfortunately, one bookish anti-tech fanatic has decided to do everything she can to keep that from happening. Even worse, she doesn’t know that in cyber space, they’re kindred spirits.

Alice and Paul clash from the start, but nothing is ever quite as it seems. When secrets are revealed, will there be a second chance- for both of them?
A romance that brings the humor of You’ve Got Mail and the deep friendships of 84, Charring Cross Road, this romance will touch the classic literature lover in everyone.

Paper Angels: A Novel

Paper Angels: A Novel

Jimmy Wayne

While Paper Angels is categorized as a “Christmas” novel, it can (and should!) be read all year long. The story serves as a reminder that one person CAN make a difference, and will hopefully inspire readers to BE that difference in someone’s life.

From Billboard Top Ten charted country music artist Jimmy Wayne comes an inspirational holiday story about a child in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program who encounters the disillusioned businessman who picked his name—soon to be a made-for-TV movie starring Josie Bissett!

Kevin Morrell is a forty-three-year-old husband and father who runs a successful design and marketing firm now suffering in the current economy. Attempting to navigate the hectic Christmas mall traffic, Kevin stumbles across the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Project. His wife insists that he take a paper ornament.

The name on the ornament is Thomas Brandt, a fifteen-year-old still reeling from the implosion of his family—from years of verbal abuse from an alcoholic father to a struggling single mother who now finds herself and her children penniless. The only thing that has allowed Lynn to survive is her faith. Thomas shares that faith, but he also wonders why God has seemingly abandoned them.

Destined to become a holiday classic, Paper Angels shares “two intertwined stories about family life and hard times…the hope of the Christmas holiday and…the goodness and compassion of loving hearts” (RT Book Reviews).
