I am very impressed with this book. The Becoming Vegan book explained so much more to further solidify my conviction.

21 Awesome Art Projects for Kids: Arts and Crafts Projects to Teach Kids About Modern Art
I love this book! It really does have great projects for kids.
As we move into and live in the 21st century we must pass the torch of art appreciation and knowledge to the younger generations. By building the foundations of art for kids, we can unleash their creative potential and eventually they will spear head the art movements of the future. Fortunately, when teaching something as engaging as modern art, it’s easy to have a good time too.
In this book I will showcase prevalent art movements of the 20th century and give instructions on creating kids art projects that will help them understand the ideas and emotions behind those movements. The art movements follow a progressive timeline starting with Expressionism and leading into Contemporary Art. All of these projects can be done with multiple age groups, but there are some that require finer motor skills. Projects for older kids are noted in each section.
For anyone attempting to do projects with kids there are certain supplies that become staples in your cabinet. Aside from the usual suspects (craft paper, safety scissors, washable paint, etc) there are versatile items that will pop up again and again. One of these items is Mod Podge, an adhesive glue that dries completely clear and can be used as a sealant on paper crafts and collages. Once you begin using Mod Podge you will never know how you lived without it. Another versatile supply is condiment and spray bottles. These can be used in a variety of projects that involve paint or gluing, and can cause some messy fun.
For this book, I had the help of a few different kids of different ages who have very little experience with art projects. Some of the finished pieces may look a little rough or unrefined, but that’s ok because the concept was not lost on them. So join us in the fun as we walk through some of the history and creativity that is Modern Art!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Each of the four main characters faced a challenge that addressed her core belief about herself, and had to be willing to risk “everything” for a chance at happiness. I love this author’s voice. By the end of the book, I felt I was saying farewell to four beautiful ladies who had become my friends.
A Heart-warming, humorous story that doesn’t just tug at the heartstrings but brings a humanity to the characters that makes them a part of the reader’s life. Come to New Bethany, Tennessee, and meet the women who join an old tradition for all the wrong reasons and through a year together find how to put their lives right.

Courting Cate (The Courtships of Lancaster County Book #1)
Very good storyline…..not boring and loved the difference in characters. I would recommend this to friends. Must read more of Leslie Gould.
When Amish farmer Pete Treger moves to Paradise Township, Pennsylvania, seeking a better life, he meets sisters Cate and Betsy Miller. Both are beautiful, but older sister Cate is known more for her sharp tongue and fiery temper than her striking appearance. Betsy, on the other hand, is sweet and flirty–and seems to have attracted most of the bachelors in Lancaster County!
However, the sisters’ wealthy father has made one hard and fast rule: elder sister must marry first, before the younger can even start courting. Unfortunately for poor Betsy, and for the men who want to court her, her older sister, Cate, doesn’t have any suitors–until Pete comes to town, that is.
Though he finds both sisters attractive, something about Cate’s feisty demeanor appeals to him. Soon the other bachelors in the district convince Pete to court Cate. She hardly seems receptive to his overtures, though. Instead, she’s immediately suspicious of his interest.

Faith Alone: A Daily Devotional
I am very familiar with his spot in church history, but not too familiar with Luther’s writings. I like this devotional– it is an excellent reminder of the call to believers that “we live by faith, not by sight” and that we rest because of Christ’s work, not our own. I’ve been encouraged, challenged, and prodded to follow Christ whole-heartedly as I’ve read through the selections of the last few months.
Some people value good works so much that they overlook faith in Christ. Faith should be first.… It is faith—without good works and prior to good works—that takes us to heaven. We come to God through faith alone.
—Martin Luther
Resounding across the centuries, Martin Luther’s prolific writings as a pastor, theologian, scholar, Bible translator, father, and more, remain powerful and richly relevant. Faith Alone is a treasury of accessible devotionals taken from Luther’s best writings and sermons from the years 1513 through 1546. This carefully updated translation retains the meaning, tone, and imagery of Luther’s works.
Through daily readings, Luther’s straightforward approach challenges you to a more thoughtful faith. Read one brief section a day or explore themes using the subject index in the back of the book. Faith Alone will deepen your understanding of Scripture and help you more fully appreciate the mystery of faith.

This book challenges the individual ans shows thst there are moral absolutes and they come from God. A must read. Outside of the Bible of course, begin there
When author Sam Harris attacked Christianity in Letter to a Christian Nation, reviewers called the book “marvelous” and a generation of readers—hundreds of thousands of them—were drawn to his message. Deeply troubled, Dr. Ravi Zacharias knew that he had to respond. In The End of Reason, Zacharias underscores the dependability of the Bible along with his belief in the power and goodness of God. He confidently refutes Harris’s claims that God is nothing more than a figment of one’s imagination and that Christians regularly practice intolerance and hatred around the globe.
If you found Sam Harris’s Letter to a Christian Nation compelling, the book you are holding is exactly what you need. Dr. Zacharias exposes “the utter bankruptcy of this worldview.”
And if you haven’t read Harris’ book, Ravi’s response remains a powerful, passionate, irrefutably sound set of arguments for Christian thought. The clarity and hope in these pages reach out to readers who know and follow God as well as to those who reject God.

Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus: How the Jewish Words of Jesus Can Change Your Life
Very well written. I do confess, that as a guy, I usually don’t like spiritual books written by women as they are too “girly”. This one definitely is not. We used it in our mens’ study group and spent quite a lot of time with it. It was well worth it. Great study
In this ebook download of Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus, Lois Tverberg challenges readers to follow their Rabbi more closely by re-examining his words in the light of their Jewish context. Doing so will provide a richer, deeper understanding of his ministry, compelling us to live differently, to become more Christ-like. We’ll begin to understand why his first Jewish disciples abandoned everything to follow him, to live out his commands.
Our modern society, with its individualism and materialism, is very different than the tight-knit, family-oriented setting Jesus lived and taught in. What wisdom can we glean from his Eastern, biblical attitude toward life? How can knowing Jesus within this context shed light on his teachings for us today?
In Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus we’ll journey back in time to eavesdrop on the conversations that arose among the rabbis of Jesus’ day, and consider how hearing Rabbi Jesus with the ears of a first-century disciple can bring new meaning to our faith. And we’ll listen to Jewish thinkers through the ages, discovering how ideas that germinated in Jesus’ time have borne fruit over time. Doing so will yield fresh, practical insights for following our Rabbi’s teachings from a Jewish point of view.

My Heart Remembers (My Heart Remembers Book #1)
Not many books bring me to tears, but by the last chapter, that’s where I was. I highly recommend this moving, lovely book. Long after you read the last line, your heart will remember the Gallagher children and Kim Vogel Sawyer.
