31 Days to Lovely: A Journey of Forgiveness
I really love this devotional. I read it through the first time like a book and now I am reading it day by day like a devotional. It is beneficial on many levels, certainly not just from the stand point of forgiveness. Thank you Sarah for your beautiful God inspired words!

Julia Loren’s book , When God Says Yes, transforms the reader as she welcomes us into a deeper embrace with Jesus. She excellently weaves true story after true story, so that this reader was left shouting, “MORE!” More of God and more of Julia’s real life story telling. What a wonderful book!

Good read. Short and sweet. Would be great for a teenager or young woman, however, we girls in our forties like to remember the sweetness of our first love too. Arden and Gabriel show us that we can over come out obstacles and problems of we choose too. The best way to do that is helping others.
“Gabriel …”
She stepped his way, but he waved her off.
“No. I’m going to do this.” He gripped the back of his chair, firming his stance. “I’m going to be the shoulder you can cry on,” he said. “Not the stupid boy in the chair.”
—–
Gabriel Allen wants to die. After the loss of his leg, there seems to be no reason to move on.
Until he meets Arden Vargus. A glimpse at her private pain finally wakes him up to the hope standing right in front of him. Her.
Only problem is she doesn’t believe he cares for her or that anything she’s said applies to herself. And that might just be the one thing he needs to show her she’s wrong.
A tender short story by best-selling young adult author, SUZANNE D. WILLIAMS, of the healing power of love.

Peacemaking Women: Biblical Hope for Resolving Conflict
This is a great book both for personal reading and growth and for a group study. It is very Biblical with most of the scripture written out (meaning that I actually get all of it read!) The questions at the end of each chapter are not superficial but force you to look into your own heart rather than just lightly answer a question.
In Peacemaking Women, Tara Klena Barthel and Judy Dabler offer a meaningful, lasting message to lead women out of conflict to a state of peace where they can live as representatives of Christ to one another and well as unbelievers. With advice that is firmly rooted in Scripture, the authors bring sound, practical help for women who want to know what the Bible says about conflict resolution and how to achieve peace in their relationships with God, self, and others.

Splashes of Joy Mini Book (Mini Book Series)
This is a wonderful book! It made me cry and laugh at the same time. The author presents adversity not as the end of our lives but as an opportunity to grow and learn. The book is easy to read but at the same time very profound and inspirational. I would recommend it to anyone who is going through difficult times. The book would help people to be joyful in the midst of adversity.

When Children Love to Learn: A Practical Application of Charlotte Mason’s Philosophy for Today
This is the most useful book relating to either teaching or parenting that I’ve read thus far in my life (well, other than scriptures). Maybe it would help to qualify this statement to say that I’m a licensed clinical (mental health) therapist and have studied about every developmental and parenting theory out there.
It can’t be denied-children have an inherent desire to know. Teachers and parents can either encourage this natural inquisitiveness or squelch it. There is joy in the classroom when children learn-not to take a test, not to get a grade, not to compete with each other, and not to please their parents or their teachers-but because they want to know about the world around them!
Both Christian educators and parents will find proven help in creating a positive learning atmosphere through methods pioneered by Charlotte Mason that show how to develop a child’s natural love of learning. The professional educators, administrators, and Mason supporters contributing to this volume give useful applications that work in a variety of educational settings, from Christian schools to homeschools.
A practical follow-up to Crossway’s For the Children’s Sake, this book follows a tradition of giving serious thought to what education is, so that children will be learning for life and for everlasting life.

Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing, Vol. 1
As a Christ following mother of three, I became familiar with this author because of the fantastic Jesus Storybook Bible. I am thrilled to see that this book has the same characteristics that led my family to enjoy the Storybook Bible so much. It is visually pleasing with gorgeous illustrations and a great feeling hardback book. The content is equally pleasing– theologically sound (foreward by Tim Keller) and well written prose.
From Jago and Sally Lloyd-Jones, the creators of the bestselling Jesus Storybook Bible, comes this gorgeous and innovative collection of 101 simple-yet-profound thoughts on faith. Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing Deluxe Edition shares profound spiritual truths from the Bible told in a conversational tone—drawing insights from creation, history, science, the writings of great thinkers and preachers and writers, and more—to turn the reader’s eyes toward the God who loves them with a Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love. The deluxe edition also includes audio from award-winning actor David Suchet, allowing read-along opportunities or inspiration wherever you go.
Perfect for family devotions, bedtime, story time, or even as a companion to The Jesus Storybook Bible, this accessible yet theologically rich book reveals biblical truth in word and image, all working together and designed to do one thing: to make the reader’s heart sing.

I absolutely love this book! I enjoyed reading it because it makes you want to laugh one minute and cry the next, and was happy to know that I didn’t have to worry about any bad language or inappropriate behaviors. I think Mrs. Havig has a nice twist from today’s society in this book in that Matt tries to win Lanes heart without “dating” her. I look forward to Mrs. Havig’s next publishing. This really is a must read! I love this book and so will you! What are you waiting for? Get reading -you won’t be disappointed!
Lane~ Five years after her family broke ties with The
Brethren, the cult-like church still has firm ties wrapped around her heart and soul. The more she rejects them, the Lord, and anyone who claims a relationship with Christ, the more she
realizes how empty life can be.
Matt~ Fresh from the inner city, Matt arrives in Argosy Jct. ready to explore the Montana countryside. He’s prepared for anything but sheep, cults, and a rancher’s daughter with a chip on her shoulder.
Not until she saves Matt from assault by sheep does Lane begin to understand that Christianity is a relationship rather than a checklist to godliness. Before he met Lane, Matt never understood how damaging the body of Christ can be to its own.
Join them as they explore Montana, Rockland, and the possibility of a merge between two very
different worlds.
Argosy Junction is the second book in the Rockland Chronicles

Blind Trust (Port Aster Secrets Book #2): A Novel
The suspense and mystery aspects of the book were great and well done, and kept me reading until I finished the book. There were a lot of suspects, and I was kept guessing who was guilty and of what until close to the end of the book. I’d highly recommend this series, but it is one that needs to be read in order. This author is well on her way to being a household name in Christian Suspense.
Award-winning author Sandra Orchard draws readers into a world of rogues, red herrings, and romance as she unfolds the continuing story of amateur sleuth Kate Adams.

Julie Cantrell has written a great novel. It is a story of grief, love, conflict, and forgiveness. And as it is Southern, it is especially a story of faith. It is difficult to write a review of such a story, as the risk of leaving out critical concepts is greater with the myriad of them Julie has woven so well into this tale; so brevity herein. Her characters are masterful: from her father (whom she calls by his given name, Jack)and mother to her almost-mystical, Sloth, to a knight (my appellation) named Bump the reader will attach himself to them as well as others. I don’t know where Julie came up with the idea to write INTO THE FREE, but God gave her the talent to write it.
In Depression-era Mississippi, Millie Reynolds longs to escape the madness that marks her world. With an abusive father and a “nothing mama,” she struggles to find a place where she really belongs.
For answers, Millie turns to the Gypsies who caravan through town each spring. The travelers lead Millie to a key that unlocks generations of shocking family secrets. When tragedy strikes, the mysterious contents of the box give Millie the tools she needs to break her family’s longstanding cycle of madness and abuse.
Through it all, Millie experiences the thrill of first love while fighting to trust the God she believes has abandoned her. With the power of forgiveness, can Millie finally make her way into the free?
Saturated in Southern ambiance and written in the vein of other Southern literary bestsellers like The Help by Kathryn Stockett and Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin, Julie Cantrell has created in Into the Free—now a New York Times Best Seller—a story that will sweep you away long after the novel ends.

Putting Away Childish Things: A Tale of Modern Faith
have read a good half-dozen books by Marcus Borg, and have found them all intellectually challenging and theologically stimulating. The author was able to draw me into the lives of the characters by making me care about the problems they faced and the issues they grapple with. And the theological issues and philosophical ideas were presented in such a natural format (classroom discussions, primarily) that I never found them intrusive, stilted, or forced. They became a natural and driving force for the story.
“We all know that Marcus Borg is a gifted teacher, biblical scholar, and writer of nonfiction, but it turns out that he’s a master storyteller, too.”
— Brian D. McLaren, author of A New Kind of Christianity
Bestselling author, Bible scholar, and theologian Marcus Borg (Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time, The Heart of Christianity, The Last Week) uses his core teachings on faith and the Bible to demonstrate their transformative power and potential in Putting Away Childish Things: the moving, inspirational story of a college professor, her students, and a crisis of faith.

I loved Ten Millions Reasons. It was my favorite out of all of Heather Grays books and I really liked all of them so far. When reading Ten Million Reasons, I did not want to put it down and would read far too long into the night and then could not wait to get back to it the next day. I thought the characters were exciting and the story was believable, as in, it could happen in real life to someone. I was not ready for the story to end and wanted more of these characters lives to be told. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and wait in anticipation for Heather Grays future writings.

Wings of a Dream is a novel that hearkens back to simpler times, when faith and family and being neighbourly was the norm. Anne Mateer writes in an easy to read manner, and succeeded at bringing to life interesting historical details, such as the the tragedy of the Spanish Influenza as it so greatly impacted her characters lives. Scenes that are focused on the children and their sorrows and their joys were especially well-done, and tugged on my heart strings.
Rebekah Hendricks dreams of a life far beyond her family’s farm in Oklahoma, and when dashing aviator Arthur Samson promised adventure in the big city, she is quick to believe he’s the man she’s meant to marry. While she waits for the Great War to end and Arthur to return to her so they can pursue all their plans, her mother’s sister falls ill. Rebekah seizes the opportunity to travel to Texas to care for Aunt Adabelle, seeing this chance to be closer to Arthur’s training camp as God’s approval of her plans.
But the Spanish flu epidemic changes everything. Faced with her aunt’s death, Arthur’s indecisiveness, and four children who have no one else to care for them, Rebeka is torn between the desire to escape the type of life she’s always led and the unexpected love that just might change the dream of her heart.
