Relentless Pursuit: God’s Love of Outsiders Including the Outsider in All of Us
When I started the book I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the first three chapters. He used three different people and their experiences (Francis Thompson, Ann Lamott, and C.S. Lewis) showed how God pursued them in their own lives and work. It was an encouraging start. Real people, real issues and how God never left them even when they thought he had.
Everyone feels like an outsider sometimes. Acclaimed bestselling author Ken Gire lets readers know that they are not alone. He brings them directly into the action of Scripture, telling the stories of foreigners, lepers, prostitutes, and other “outcasts” who found acceptance with God. Alongside the Bible stories, he blends contemporary examples and spiritual insights to paint a picture of a God who relentlessly pursues each of us. Discussion questions are included for individual or small group use.

This book was written. It enlightens the reader about the challenges of dealing with a autistic child. I would love to know more about this story. The characters and the storyline were very interesting. It shows that despite the challenges they were still able to find love. Would definitely recommend this book to other readers.
A year after learning of a son’s existence, Country music legend, Ethan Jacobs returns to Jasper Falls, a place of bitter memories, to help the his twelve-year-old autistic child, given up for adoption at birth. Orphaned after the death of his adoptive parents, the boy is at risk of institutionalization due to probation violations and alleged inadequate guardianship of his current caregiver, an older, adoptive sister. In view of his son’s delicate emotional state, the court advises Ethan to keep his relationship to Gib secret for now.
As far as Jasper Falls knows, Ethan is in town to perform a Christmas benefit, although he longs to tell the world his current hit single, A Christmas Prayer, was inspired by a son he has yet to meet. Ethan’s intent was to rescue Gib. Instead, his presence seems to complicate the child’s life even more. Does God have a different plan for Gib no one has considered?
