This is a wonderful view of the man who wrote so many wonderful books. One line that struck me as a reminder for all is when Lewis “gave in, admitted that God is God, and knelt to pray.” Well done book.
A master of visual illustration and allegory, Lewis wrote with the intuitive understanding that his readers wrestled with the same questions about the Christian story, about pain, suffering, and notions of Heaven and Hell, as he himself had wrestled. He also understood that others found reason and imagination to be incompatible aspects of an understanding of God and the universe.

This book touched me and changed my whole view of the term ‘martyr’. I have since become a great fan of Wurmbrand, his books never fail to stun one into a deep, reverential silence.
And the miracle is that he survived.
With humble gratitude to God and Christ, he tells his personal story. It’s an inspiring drama of triumphant faith.

The Complete Emily Starr Trilogy: Emily of New Moon, Emily Climbs, Emily’s Quest: Unabridged
This was a favorite as a child and it does not disappoint now. Great value and formatting was good for Kindle.
This carefully crafted ebook: “The Complete Emily Starr Trilogy: Emily of New Moon + Emily Climbs + Emily’s Quest (Unabridged)” is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents.
The author, Lucy Maud Montgomery, created another and better-known representative of Canadian girlhood in “Anne of Green Gables” and all the subsequent Anne books, but Emily was closer to her own heart. Like Anne, Emily is a strong-minded, gifted, imaginative child, left alone and unprotected in a harsh world, who is taken in by adults who are at least initially cold and unloving. Both girls grow up amid the beauties of Prince Edward Island, both keenly sensitive to natural splendors and highly fanciful, not to say occasionally precious, about assigning names to lakes and trees and identifying spirits and fairies in their surroundings. Anne is an original and spunky girl, with a certain amount of talent for writing verses and romantic tales, but Emily is a writer.
In the celebrated Emily trilogy, of which Emily of New Moon is the first volume, Montgomery draws a more realistic portrait of a young girl’s life on Prince Edward Island. The twin threads of bright and dark, love and cruelty, hope and despair intertwine in a pattern as significant as it is enduring.
In the second volume, Emily Climbs, Lucy Maud Montgomery traces the often stormy course of Emily Starr’s life as she moves from the world of childhood into that of school and adolescence.
Emily’s Quest is the last of the Emily trilogy. After finishing Emily Climbs, Montgomery suspended writing Emily’s Quest and published The Blue Castle; she resumed writing and published in 1927.
Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874 – 1942), was a Canadian author best known for a series of novels beginning with Anne of Green Gables. Montgomery went on to publish 20 novels as well as 530 short stories, 500 poems, and 30 essays.

That Certain Spark (Only In Gooding Book #4)
Gooding, Texas, is about to gain a double blessing–a veterinarian and a doctor. But when siblings Enoch and Taylor Bestman arrive, the discovery that Taylor is a lady doctor has the town up in arms. Especially Karl Van der Vort, the town blacksmith, who becomes the first patient…against his will.
Though hesitant to believe in Taylor’s doctoring skills, Karl finds himself oddly protective of this surprising woman who dares to drive about town on her own, wearing the color red, for heaven’s sake! Taylor, on the other hand, wants only to prove that doctoring is her life’s calling, despite the town’s opposition. The result? Pride meets attraction head-on, and sparks begin to fly.

Waiting for a View (A Bloomfield Novel)
I chose the 5 star rating because I loved this book. Love Daphne. Two more in this series. Looking forward to them! Another Melody Carlson great book!
Once he moves on, Sherry is pursued by Brad Henderson, an old friend who always seems to be there when she needs a helping hand. His kindness only annoys Sherry until one day she is shocked into self-reflection when a little girl points to her and asks her mother if she’s “the sad woman who will wind up being an old maid.”
With a friend’s encouragement, Sherry plans a turnaround, putting her house on the market and her name on the waiting list for a nice apartment with a view of the lake. She also agrees to go out with Brad, another bold step outside her comfort zone.
Letting go of the past is about as simple as an elephant picking up a pea, but for the first time in her life Sherry will leap into the exhilarating world of the great unknown, a place where faith is crucial and true love is waiting.

Almost Amish (Tomorrow’s Promise Collection Book #5)
My very first impression of this book was, “Wow, this is different! Is it REALLY an Amish story?” Well, I was correct, it is very unusual , in that the main characters are NOT Amish. That immediately grabbed my interest, as this is not the norm for the Amish genre. But it is truly a book that involves the Amish and their lifestyle in a very imaginative way.
Julie Charlton is at the breaking point. She’s overwhelmed and burned out, and in today’s unrelenting society, her kids are, too. When her sister-in-law Susan, a Martha Stewart-in-training, lands the chance to participate in a reality TV series promoting simple living, and needs another family to join her, it seems like the perfect opportunity.
The location is an idyllic farm outside an Amish community in Tennessee. Julie, with her two children, joins Susan and her teenage daughter for a summer adventure. Susan needs to succeed in order to become self-sufficient after an ugly divorce, Julie needs to slow down long enough to remember what her priorities are and regain a sense of purpose and meaning. It becomes clear from the start that “living simple” is no simple matter. With the camera watching every move, Susan’s drive for perfection feels a lot like what they left behind, while Julie suddenly finds herself needing to stand up for slowing down. With each new challenge, their season of “going Amish” gets more and more complicated, as each woman learns unexpected lessons about herself and her family.

Fancy Pants (Only In Gooding Book #1)
It was a good story. Hard to put it down. I would recommend this book. Would like to read more from Cathy Marie Hake.
When Britisher Lady Sydney Hathwell’s father dies, the American who planned to wed her suddenly reneges. Stranded in America and penniless, Sydney contacts a relative in Texas who, mistaking her male-sounding name, invites his “nephew” to join him on his ranch.
“Big Tim” Creighton, however, is appalled when this mincing fop arrives at Forsaken. He determines he’ll turn Fancy Pants Hathwell into a man before the boss returns home. From the get-go, he has “the kid” mucking stalls, clearing and plowing a field, and assisting with a difficult calving. But when Sydney’s true identity is uncovered, Tim resents being deceived. Yet in time, he also finds that he doesn’t like all the attention Sydney garners now that she’s wearing pretty gowns…
Together Sydney and Tim will discover the importance of family and what it means to be a man–and a woman–of God.

‘The Girl in the Gatehouse’ is an excellent story and more; it is truly delightful. If this book doesn’t bring Julie Klassen another award I will be very much surprised. I recommend it without reservation as one of the best books I’ve read.
Captain Matthew Bryant, returning to England successful and wealthy after the Napoleonic wars, leases an impressive estate from a cash-poor nobleman, determined to show the society beauty who once rejected him what a colossal mistake she made. When he discovers an old gatehouse on the property, he is immediately intrigued by its striking young inhabitant and sets out to uncover her identity, and her past. But the more he learns about her, the more he realizes he must distance himself. Falling in love with an outcast would ruin his well-laid plans.
The old gatehouse holds secrets of its own. Can Mariah and Captain Bryant uncover them before the cunning heir to the estate buries them forever?

Princess Ever After (Royal Wedding Series)
As with every good story, there are doubts, danger, unexpected enemies, good friends, and a happy ending. I love Hauck’s style, and this is another gem from her pen. This is one story you won’t want to miss.

Orchard of Hope (The Heart of Hollyhill Book #2): A Novel
This second book in the story of Joci Brooke is just as good as the first one. I really enjoy Gabhart’s writing style and her chracter building. I hope we see a lot more from this author in the Christian Fiction aisles of bookstores.
