The book is well written, easy to read, and full of practical ways to overcome strongholds in our lives. Best of all, each day is based on a different Scripture from God’s word. It doesn’t take long to read each day’s devotional but what you read sticks with you throughout the day. My wife and I often use it as the core of our evening devotional.

Breaking Free: Discover the Victory of Total Surrender
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling to overcome sin associated with a troubled past. Moore allows herself to be transparent here, describing candidly her own severe trials and spiritual triumphs. Still, those persons who don’t have deep emotional scars can benefit from this volume.
Beth Moore is one of most outstanding teachers and devotional writers of our time. This title illustrates that truth once again. Get it and see for yourself!
In Breaking Free, Beth Moore embarks on a study of selected passages from the book of Isaiah, drawing several parallels between the captive Israelites and today’s Christians, in order to show how to make freedom in Christ a daily reality. Moore teaches readers to remove obstacles that hinder freedom by identifying spiritual strongholds in their lives and overcoming them through the truth of God’s Word–truth that will set us free.

A Heart Like His: Intimate Reflections on the Life of David
I recommend this book very highly to anyone wanting to gain a better understanding of the life of King David. The book is very easy reading, yet is profound in its insights. Men and women, clergy and laity alike will benefit from Moore’s painstakingly thorough work.
A Heart Like His looks at this bond of mutual love and admiration between a man who was not unlike any of us and the one true God who is all good and all powerful. Beth Moore walks us through an exploration of David’s incredible life, drawing spiritual insights from a man who boldly fulfilled his divine destiny not merely by what he did, but who he loved and served. Bringing lessons from David’s life to bear on your own, this picture of a man who loved and followed God will help you to serve with a heart focused on Him no matter the circumstance.
Available here for the first time in trade paper, this new edition also features an excerpt from Moore’s David: Seeking a Heart Like His Bible study.

This is another winner from Beth Moore but very different from her other Bible study writings. This is a more personal look into her own family life and is an absolute must read for any mom. It is written from an empty-nester’s point of view, but as a young mom of a two and four year old, I found it so comforting, inspiring and uplifting.

Operation Dinner: How to Plan, Shop & Prep for Easy Family Meals
Can’t get easier for a mom/wife who doesn’t like to cook! Great cooking ideas, tips, and guidance – which I really need. That’s why I love that it’s not just a cookbook. I’ve followed this mom’s blog for a while now and its one of the few I like to visit often. We are only a family of 3, so if she can do this with her much busier schedule–with five kiddos–then I certainly can!

David Murrow has written an absolute must-read book for all churches interested in bringing men back, restoring a proper balance of the masculine and feminine spirits within the local church, creating an environment in which men will lovingly take charge, thrive, grow and be soldiers again in the Lord’s army.
“It’s irrelevant.”
“It’s full of hypocrites.”
You’ve heard the excuses —now learn the real reasons men and boys are fleeing churches of every kind, all over the world.
Christianity is the only world religion with a chronic shortage of men. David Murrow identifies the barriers to male participation, and explains why it’s so hard to motivate the men who do go to church. Then, he takes you inside several fast-growing congregations that are winning the hearts of men and boys.
The first release of Why Men Hate Going to Church sold more than 125,000 copies and was published in multiple languages. This edition is completely revised, reorganized, and rewritten, with more than 70 percent new content. Why Men Hate Going to Church does not call men back to church—it calls the church back to men.
“This is one of the most helpful books for understanding why men are indifferent toward church and how churches must change to welcome men.”
—MARK DRISCOLL, pastor of Mars Hill Church; cofounder of Acts 29 Church Planting; founder of The Resurgence
“[This] is a prophetic and relevant ‘snap-out-of-it’ masterwork that every pastor must read—not just for the sake of the kingdom, but also for his own sake and sanity in ministry.”
—KENNY LUCK, men’s pastor, Saddleback Church
“David Murrow knows how to connect with men. Where was this guy when I was twenty?”
—FRANK PASTORE, host of America’s largest

Joanna’s Struggle (Amish Girls Series – Book 1)
In today’s world, with teen role models growing scarce, J. E. B. Spredemann has written an endearing tale of teenage girls who struggle with life among the Amish and Englisch world. Joanna finds forgiveness in the first book in the Amish Girls Series. I would highly recommend this book to teens and adults alike. A local Mennonite woman leads Joanna and her family on a new and glorious past and readers will delight in finding the same path for themselves.

The characters were also done very well. From lords and ladies, to the lowliest of servants, to Charlotte who straddled both worlds, the characters were believable and all had something I could identify with.

Flight of the Earls: An Heirs of Ireland Novel (Heirs of Ireland Trilogy)
From the Irish potato famine to the seedy streets of New York, Michael K. Reynolds takes the reader on a moving adventure. The writing sings, the story thrills, the characters are unapologetically realistic, and the message of hope and trust shines even in the grit. A novel not to be missed!
Five years prior, Clare’s older sister Margaret and her Uncle Tomas emigrated in similar fashion and were not to be heard from again. But Clare must face her fears as she lands in the coming-of-age city of New York. There she discovers love, adventure, tragedy, and a terrible secret which threatens to destroy her family and all she believes.
Flight of the Earls is the first book in a historical novel trilogy based on Irish immigration in the 1840s.

In Golden Splendor: An Heirs of Ireland Novel
You will fall in love with “In Golden Splendor’s” fully developed characters. Confronted with the classic theme of courage in oppression, the folks you meet will melt your heart. I must admit I shed a few tears as Reynolds’ sensitive, descriptive writing made Seamus, Clare, Andrew, Davin and Ashlyn come alive. The message of trust and hope beams throughout this epic adventure.
Battered but changed for the better, Seamus reaches San Francisco on Christmas Eve as the city burns in the tragic fire of 1849. But there is little time for rest, as an even greater, more harrowing adventure involving Ashlyn is about to begin.

She gets better with each book she writes. Her books are so well written, it’s amazing. I buy them wanting to delve right in but at the same time, try to read slowly so I can make the enjoyment last longer. Klassen’s characters are people you wish you knew yourself, she makes them so very real. You feel their pain, know their joy and take them as your own friends.
Lord Bradley has just learned a terrible secret, which, if exposed, will change his life forever. When he glimpses a figure on the grounds, he fears a spy or thief has overheard his devastating news. He is stunned to discover the intruder is a scrap of a woman with her throat badly injured. Fearing she will spread his secret, he gives the girl a post and confines her to his estate. As Olivia and Lord Bradley’s secrets catch up with them, will their hidden pasts ruin their hope of finding love?

The Paradise Trilogy (Books of History Chronicles: Paradise)
well written, exciting and suspenseful. The author stayed true to the story and scripture. I would highly recommend this as one of his best.
Showdown
A man cloaked in black arrives in the sleepy town of Paradise, Colorado. He knows too much about the town’s many unspoken secrets, and he himself holds the greatest secret of them all. Bearing the power to grant any unfulfilled dream, he is irresistible. As dark clouds and sandstorms envelop the town, it becomes apparent that Paradise is being isolated for a reason. But why?
Saint
He belongs to the X Group. They call him Saint. Invasive techniques have stripped him of his identity and made him someone new . . . but who is he really? From the deep woods of Hungary to the streets of New York, one man’s search for truth leads him into a world of government cover-ups, political intrigue, and ultimate betrayal.
Sinner
This is the story of Marsuvees Black, a force of raw evil who speaks with wicked persuasion that is far more destructive than swords or guns. It’s also the story of two unsuspecting survivors of a research project gone bad—who may be the most powerful people on earth. And finally, it’s the story of one who comes out of the desert to lead those willing to stand for truth. The epic conclusion to what began in a small town called Paradise.
