Unglued Devotional: 60 Days of Imperfect Progress
I read Lysa’s book, Unglued, but have really enjoyed the Unglued devotional. I received lots from the book, but I found that the devotional divided all the information from the book into bite-size daily devotional pieces that I was better able to swallow, digest, and apply to my everyday “unglued” situations.

Eat In, Not Out: The Learn-How-to-Cook Book, Without the Recipes
I read this book in three sittings while on vacation and even took notes! Reading this book felt like having a conversation with a really smart, but dear friend. Her writing style is so friendly and personal, yet it’s easy to see that she knows and lives what she’s talking about. What I most valued in this book are the examples she brings in of how her own family deals with junk food and healthy cooking.
Eat In! – Turn your kitchen into the centerpiece for delicious meals and lasting memories.
Not Out! – Save time and money while eating healthier, more wholesome meals.
Eat In, Not Out has something for everyone, whether you are a cooking novice or expert! With input from expert cooks and food bloggers, including Shaina Olmanson, Lynne Viera, Aimée Wimbush-Bourque, and others – you will discover everything from the basics of nutrition to easy pick-me-ups that transform meals.

This is a book full of the wonder of learning about subjects that many don’t know exist. It challenges the reader to move away from a comfortable context to recognize others. Thi is not a book of ‘rights’ and ‘wrongs;” rather, it is one that leaves the reader asking how she can love more, learn more, be more and perhaps most about helping others do the same.
Strong-willed and independent, Rachel Held Evans couldn’t sew a button on a blouse before she embarked on a radical life experiment–a year of biblical womanhood. Intrigued by the traditionalist resurgence that led many of her friends to abandon their careers to assume traditional gender roles in the home, Evans decides to try it for herself, vowing to take all of the Bible’s instructions for women as literally as possible for a year.
Pursuing a different virtue each month, Evans learns the hard way that her quest for biblical womanhood requires more than a “gentle and quiet spirit” (1 Peter 3:4). It means growing out her hair, making her own clothes, covering her head, obeying her husband, rising before dawn, abstaining from gossip, remaining silent in church, and even camping out in the front yard during her period.
See what happens when a thoroughly modern woman starts referring to her husband as “master” and “praises him at the city gate” with a homemade sign. Learn the insights she receives from an ongoing correspondence with an Orthodox Jewish woman, and find out what she discovers from her exchanges with a polygamist wife. Join her as she wrestles with difficult passages of scripture that portray misogyny and violence against women.
With just the right mixture of humor and insight, compassion and incredulity, A Year of Biblical Womanhood is an exercise in scriptural exploration and spiritual contemplation. What does God truly expect of women, and is there really a prescription for biblical womanhood? Come along with Evans as she looks for answers in the rich heritage of biblical heroines, models of grace, and all-around women of valor.

Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids
I was already a fan of Grace for a Moment. I have the morning and evening edition in one book in my bedroom I could not wait to read Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids by Max Lucado. The book did not disappoint. You have devotionals for every day of the year. They are written in a way that makes sense to kids. The book stayed near our kitchen table where we spend most of our time. After a meal or anytime, I would read with my children today’s devotional.
Grace is: God’s best idea . . . More than we deserve … And greater than we imagine. But how can you plant this important message of grace into the heart of your child?
Adapted from the bestselling devotional for adults (with more than 3 million copies sold), Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids presents the message of God’s grace in a way that children can understand. It’s perfect for families to read together or for older readers to enjoy alone. Each day offers a devotion and scripture to encourage regular time with God. And because giving grace is just as important as receiving it, a “Growing in Grace” opportunity accompanies each devotion, offering practical and easy-to-do activities to help kids apply God’s grace—every day and every moment.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a lighthearted look at what people of different backgrounds think of other people. The results were obtained for both reasons to have “A Simple Song”.
Teen girls will be swept into the excitement as Katrina ventures out of her quiet Amish world to become a reality television star. Will she be successful? And will she be accepted back into her community when it’s over?

Sweet picture. Shows how healing old wounds can happen when we least expect it. Perhaps some of the people who are the least lovable have pains from the past that we have no knowledge of. Enjoyed it very much.
As the storm brings her face to face with the hurts of her past, she will have to choose one path; letting go and grabbing hold of a life changing forgiveness or continuing to carry her pain and bitterness with her.

Warning: You will NOT be able to put this book down until you have read the very last page.
I give this book 5 stars and I highly recommend it.
In the charming town of Smithville, Texas, Brooke Holloway is raising two young children on her own, supporting them by running the family hardware store. The last thing on her mind is falling in love. But she’s intrigued when a stranger moves to town and buys the old Hadley mansion. She’s always heard that house holds a secret—maybe even a treasure—and she can’t wait to see inside. When she meets the new owner and they spend time together, she can’t deny the attraction. Could God be giving her another chance at happiness? Or is she betraying her late husband’s memory by even thinking that way?
Owen Saunders bought the Hadley place to spite his cheating ex-wife. She’d always wanted to restore an old house in Smithville. Now he’s going to do it without her. But if anything needs restoration, it is Owen’s heart. Then he meets Brooke and her kids and finds himself tempted by love. Can he bring himself to trust a woman again?
Throw an eccentric uncle into the mix, along with the town’s teenage troublemaker, and even a finicky cat—and one thing becomes clear: God is bringing them all together for a reason.
