Speaking of Jesus: The Art of Not-Evangelism
Love this book! Carl does a great job pushing us to keep our focus on who is really at the heart of our good news. It’s Jesus! I think sometimes we amazingly forget that. I love how the author reminds us to join people where they are. People do actually like Jesus. I am challenged again to just be nice to everyone and talk about Jesus constantly.
In Speaking of Jesus, Carl Medearis draws on his experience of international reconciliation between Muslims and Christians to remind us of the heart of the matter: Jesus. Here he gives us tools, stories, and the foundation we need to move beyond “us” and “them” and simply talk about the One who changes it all.
As Carl writes, “While others are explaining and defending various isms and ologies we’re simply pointing people to our friend. The one who uncovers and disarms. Who leads people right to himself. The beginning and the end of the story. A good story indeed.”

Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs
Fantastic book! Some of my friends have feminist views and don’t understand the premise, but most don’t understand what’s wrong with their relationships either. This book speaks truth and has really helped my marriage.
A Revolutionary Message
“I’ve been married 35 years and have not heard this taught.”
“This is the key that I have been missing.”
“You connected all the dots for me.”
“As a counselor, I have never been so excited about any material.”
“You’re on to something huge here.”
A Simple Message
A wife has one driving need—to feel loved. When that need is met, she is happy. A husband has one driving need—to feel respected. When that need is met, he is happy. When either of these needs isn’t met, things get crazy. Love and Respect reveals why spouses react negatively to each other, and how they can deal with such conflict quickly, easily, and biblically.
A Message That Works
Based on over three decades of counseling, as well as scientific and biblical research, Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and his wife, Sarah, have already taken the Love and Respect message across America and are changing the way couples talk to, think about, and treat each other. What do you want for your marriage? Want some peace? Want to feel close? Want to feel valued? Want to experience marriage the way God intended? Then why not try some Love and Respect.

Lord, Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 Days
This is one of the best of Kay’s Lord Series Books! My husband and I are using this study in our Sunday School class doing one lesson each week. You can do it as written where you do a study each day and complete it all in 4 weeks. This book presents the Inductive method of studying the Bible so that you are really observing exactly what it says, rather than just deciding what you think it says. You will learn good study habits which will be of great benefit to anyone who wishes to learn. What a great tool and so easy to follow. Try it and be encouraged.
study the Bible book by book and understand what they are reading
recognize key words and concepts in the Bible
discover the main point of any passage of Scripture
discern God’s purpose and apply life–changing truths to everyday life
This is a very practical, hands–on, learn–by–doing book, perfect for either individuals or small groups. Bible text and space to write insights are included. Readers need only a pen, a few colored pencils…and a prayerful heart to complete each study and experience the Bible’s life–changing power.

So far these fast-paced adventure stories have been terrific for read-aloud to my 5-1/2 yr old. He doesn’t understand it all, but he’s excited to hear and asks lots if questions. I try to target -together at or below his comprehension level and read-aloud somewhere above.

The information contained in the book seems to be well researched. The authors are passionate and direct. It is a must read for every Christian family. If you are planning on sending your kids to public schools, you need to read this book in order to know what you are up against. It comes from a strong Christian perspective. The book does not bash teachers, but brings to ones attention that the system that is controlled by the government has an agenda and it’s not one that Christians should want their most prized possessions, their children, to be a part of. It encourages parents to teach/disciple their own children instead of putting undue trust in the government to do so.
The companion book to the award-winning documentary “IndoctrinNation”, this eye-opening book includes:
– An unforgettable introduction by a father who lost his son in the Columbine school massacre — “I put him in a pagan school where they teach there is no God.”
– 12 common reasons people give not to homeschool — and the manageable reality of this educational alternative
– Revealing, firsthand accounts of Christian educators working in public schools — sharing the struggles they face in a hostile system
– The classroom anti-Christian ideologies from humanism, marxism, utopianism, educational psychology, and more confronting students in public schools today
Look behind the comfortable myths of an educational system actively at work to alter your child’s moral values, worldview, and religious beliefs. Learn the history and philosophy of public school education — and discover it is based on neither Christian nor American values. Explore the biblical principles regarding education — and who is ultimately responsible for our children’s future.

Enjoyed learning the rolls of the various servants and positions in the running of an estate. It was a message of learning humility, forgiveness and grace. If you like British history you would like this book.
Pampered Margaret Macy flees London in disguise to escape pressure to marry a dishonorable man. With no money and nowhere else to go, she takes a position as a housemaid in the home of Nathaniel Upchurch, a suitor she once rejected in hopes of winning his dashing brother. Praying no one will recognize her, Margaret fumbles through the first real work of her life. If she can last until her next birthday, she will gain an inheritance from a spinster aunt–and sweet independence. But can she remain hidden as a servant even when prying eyes visit Fairbourne Hall?
Observing both brothers as an “invisible” servant, Margaret learns she may have misjudged Nathaniel. Is it too late to rekindle his admiration? And when one of the family is nearly killed, Margaret alone discovers who was responsible. Should she come forward, even at the risk of her reputation and perhaps her life? And can she avoid an obvious trap meant to force her from hiding?
On her journey from wellborn lady to servant to uncertain future, Margaret must learn to look past appearances and find the true meaning of “serve one another in love.”

An Unforgivable Secret (Amish Secrets – Book 1)
The author did a good job at really surprising me in a few key moments of the story. I enjoyed reading about these characters. I felt their despair and their triumphs and I was impressed with the way the author wove in the message of salvation throughout the story.

A Christmas Mission: Saving the Street Boys (Friends in Faith Series)
Buy this book for a loved one for Christmas but make sure you keep a copy for yourself. Based on one person’s real life experience as a missionary to Peru, it is a poignant and inspirational story that is a reminder to all of us of the real meaning of Christmas. It is Eva’s story of her struggle with her past and how she is transformed by the “Street Boys” and how her own healing allows her to help them with their own. It is a story of survival that attests to the inner strength that is accessible to us all if we trust and place our faith in Jesus and a humbling reminder that we all have our own inner demons but that God will never abandon us. A Must read for the holidays.
Then she crosses paths with the homeless, lost boys of Peru…
And a male mission worker who teaches her what faith and love are all about…
When their lives intertwine, will she be able to save them or will they end us saving her?

Having just recently began reading books by Diane Moody, I am looking forward with much interest for the next one for readers. this one has just about everything desired in a light read–comedy, romantic interest, Elvis–all wrapped up in learning to trust in man, but above all, God. Read and enjoy! 🙂
Do you remember where you were the day Elvis died?
I do. I know exactly where I was.
I was there.
In the spring of 1977, Shelby Colter moved back to Memphis, Tennessee hoping to make a fresh start after breaking off her engagement. Working as a patient representative hostess at Baptist Memorial Hospital–the world’s largest private hospital–she’s thrilled with her new job, assisting patients with their non-medical needs. She has to laugh at her colorful co-workers who constantly chat about Elvis-sightings. After all, Baptist Memorial was “Elvis’s hospital.”
Shelby hits the ground running, taking care of her patients, getting to know her new friends, and bumping into . . . Dr. Tucker Thompson? Who knew that annoying kid who used to hang out with her big brother was now a resident at Baptist Memorial Hospital? Little Chubby Tucker–a compassionate, handsome doctor?
As the summer rolls along, three people she loves face life-threatening situations, drawing Shelby back to her faith. And then one night, in a hospital prayer room, she pours out her heart to a most unexpected visitor . . .
Blue Like Elvis is loosely based on the author’s real-life experiences while working at Baptist Memorial Hospital in the summer of 1977. While most of the novel is fiction, the setting of Shelby’s adventures are based on the author’s memories of those days in Memphis leading up to that unforgettable day . . . the day Elvis died.

I love the free books. It would be nice if you would separate the categories like before. I only read christian fiction! Thank you so much for the free books.
Hi Anita, thanks for the feedback. We have the books organized a bit within the post. The first 3-5 will be the free books, and the Christian Fiction if there are any that day will be last in that grouping. The discounted Christian Fiction will always be at the very end of the post. Hope that helps.
Hi I love the free books you offer and I often go on and buy a second title.
But I have been disappointed as lately the books haven’t been free.
Are you still going to offer free fiction and Christian books
Thanks
Hi Sandra, the first 3-5 books of the daily post will be free, except for on Saturdays and holidays. (Today and tomorrow, New Year’s Eve, and New Years day there will be no free books.) If you look at yesterday’s post (12/23/13) you will notice that the first 3 books are free. The free books will say “Download Now” instead of “Buy Now”. Hope that helps.
