I really enjoyed this book. The historical details were wonderful, particularly as this is a period of history that I am less familiar with. The story and characters were believable and compelling. The Christian content was woven in naturally and did not feel “preachy” or contrived. I think that anyone, regardless of faith, can relate to the idea of forgiveness and letting go.

Female journalists are rare in 1879, but American-born Clara Endicott has finally made a name for herself with her provocative articles championing London’s poor. When the backlash from her work forces a return home to Baltimore, Clara finds herself face-to-face with a childhood sweetheart who is no longer the impoverished factory worker she once knew. In her absence, Daniel Tremain has become a powerful industry giant and Clara finds him as enigmatic as ever. However, Daniel’s success is fueled by resentment from past wounds and Clara’s deeply-held beliefs about God’s grace force Daniel to confront his own motives. When Clara’s very life is endangered by one of Daniel’s adversaries, they must face a reckoning neither of them ever could have foreseen.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Snap”. I didn’t expect it to be the kind of book that you start and can’t put down, but that is what it turned out to be. I started reading and couldn’t stop until I had finished the book. The characters pulled me in and with each chapter I was more and more intrigued

Pastor Richard has everything: Perfect house. Perfect car. Perfect appearance. Perfect wife. As the Senior Pastor of Faith First Church, perfection was expected of him, but when his son, Frank, informs him that he no longer wants to be part of Christianity, the cracks begin to show.

Richard’s older brother, Ted, who was also once the Senior Pastor of Faith First before his abrupt resignation a decade ago, has been talking with Frank about living a life of faith outside of organized religion for some time. At first Richard doesn’t think this is of any serious consequence. However, when Frank is mysteriously scheduled to preach one Sunday evening, his message challenges Richard’s church-growth vision so directly it has the potential to blow his perfect facade sky high.

With Henry, the ambitious Associate Pastor, now determined to take matters into his own hands, Richard suddenly has everyone against him: His brother, his son, his wife, his Associate Pastor, and the elders. Despite the pressure, Richard is determined to overcome and maintain his perfect appearance—but everyone has a breaking point, even the Mighty Pastor Richard.

Rosemary Cottage (The Hope Beach Series)

Rosemary Cottage (The Hope Beach Series)

Colleen Coble

I love books that keep me guessing the whole time — and Collene’s new book will do just that. She’s very good at putting together a mystery and trickling clues throughout until everything comes together in the end.

Come to the Table (A SouledOut Sisters Novel)

Come to the Table (A SouledOut Sisters Novel)

Neta Jackson

Price: $2.99

Neta Jackson has a very special way of making her characters seem like the people in your neighborhood. I get done with one book, and I can’t wait to pick up the next because “my friends” from the book are so important to me. I love how she can weave new characters into the parade of already known ones to then continue on with the happenings of the Yada Yada prayer group. Thank you, Neta

Malinda J. Felgenhour

Kat Davies is suddenly wondering if her good deed was a bad idea.

Kat may be new in her faith, but she’s embraced the more radical implications of Christianity with reckless abandon. She invited Rochelle—a homeless mother—and her son to move in the apartment she shares with two other housemates. And she’s finally found a practical way to channel her passion for healthy eating by starting a food pantry at the church.

Her feelings for Nick are getting harder to ignore. The fact that he’s the interning pastor at SouledOut Community Church and one of her housemates makes it complicated enough. But with Rochelle showing interest in Nick as a father-figure for her son, their apartment is feeling way too small.

But not everyone thinks the food pantry is a good idea. When the woman she thought would be her biggest supporter just wants to “pray about it,” Kat is forced to look deeper at her own motives. Only when she begins to look past the surface does she see people who are hungry and thirsty for more than just food and drink and realizes the deeper significance of inviting them to “come to the table.”

“. . . the plot and characters remain fresh and vibrant, shining spiritual truth from each page.” —Romantic Times TOP PICK for Stand by Me
