Rosa's Land: Western Justice - book 1

Rosa’s Land: Western Justice – book 1

Gilbert Morris

Price: Free

This book is an easy read. And an enjoyable read. It strikes me as a bit simplistic, missing details that the reader wonders about, but sometimes simplistic is exactly what the reader needs. Danger and romance are a winning combination. The conclusion is predictable, but the route to that is enjoyable and surprising at parts.

Nancy S. Wagner

Join Lafayette Riordan as he chases his dream of becoming a Wild West marshal. Young Faye longs for an adventurous life protecting the frontier alongside Judge Isaac Parker’s famous marshals. But his upbringing has left him more prepared for a life as scholar and artist. When faced with the opportunity to realize his dream, can he summon the courage to hunt down the outlaws? Yielded Captive

Yielded Captive

Dalaina May

Excellent reading from beginning to end. Could not put it down. Well written, can’t wait for her next book. Highly recommend this book.

Vickie Bell

Lord, this was not how it was supposed to end.

Allison Carter had dedicated her life to being a missionary in the jungles of Peru. Now she was being dragged into an unknown future by the very people she had come to reach.

They had attacked without warning or provocation. With her infant son in her arms and her husband, Eric, lying facedown with an arrow in his back, death seemed preferable to captivity in a primitive tribe with customs and mindsets alien to her own.

But Allison had to stay alive—if only to protect Isaac—to raise him to fear the one true God …

… that same God who had allowed her to suffer so much?

Stubborn as she was in resisting her abusive captors, Allison’s greatest battle was not with them, but with the God she thought she knew.

Why did He not rescue her? Where was He in her suffering? Could He still be trusted with Isaac’s and her future?

Dalaina May lives with her husband, Dan, and their four rowdy boys in the jungles of Peru, where they serve on a church-planting team among the Caquinte tribe. Dalaina spends most of her time dragging her children out of trees, embarrassing herself in front of her neighbors, and blogging about her family’s life and ministry at DanandDalaina.com. When she has a free moment, she appreciates good sushi and a back rub.

Meeting Place, The (Song of Acadia Book #1)

Meeting Place, The (Song of Acadia Book #1)

Janette Oke, T. Davis Bunn

Price: Free

I loved the storyline, but I also was really drawn into the characters, and almost felt as if they were friends of mine. I identified deeply with the two ladies, and I felt their conflicts. I’ve read all of Janette Oke’s books, and all of their combined efforts, and this one touched my heart the most.

A Chance Encounter Forever Changed Their Lives–and Destinies.

Crafted by two masters of inspirational fiction–Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn–and combining the engaging historical settings, rich characterization, and heartwarming messages quintessential to both authors, The Meeting Place is another timeless story for you to cherish.

Set along the rugged coastline of 18th century Canada in what was then called Acadia (now Nova Scotia and New Brunswick), The Meeting Place re-creates a world that was home to native Indians, French settlers, and English garrisons. Such diverse populations did not live in accord, however. Instead, they were isolated within their own groups by a brewing political tension under the difficult English rule.

Amid such chaotic times two women, both about to become brides and both trying to live lives of quiet peace, meet in a lush field of wildflowers. Louisa, a Frenchwoman, and Catherine, who is English, continue to meet secretly through the seasons, sharing both friendship and growing faith.

The outside world does not mirror their own tranquil happiness, and the dreaded crackdown by the English throne threatens far more than their growing bond. In the face of a heart-wrenching dilemma, Louisa and Catherine strive to maintain their faith and cling to their dreams of family and home.

Winner of the Christy Award, presented by the Christian Bookseller Association to honor the best in Christian fiction.

You Had Me at Good-bye: A Novel (Drama Queens)

You Had Me at Good-bye: A Novel (Drama Queens)

Tracey Bateman

Price: $1.99

Every time I sat down to read You Had Me at Good-bye I had a big, goofy grin on my face. I cheered for the heroine, Dancy Ames, as she navigated work and family situations, and at times I really wanted to knock her parents’ heads together. There were scenes that made me swoon. Yes, swoon. Talk about getting involved! This is the perfect book to sweep you away for a few hours of pure fun.

Georgiana Daniels

Everything is on the line for aspiring editorial diva Dancy Ames when she’s fired by her publisher. Could this be the time to risk it all on her writing career–and maybe even love?

Dancy Ames has an enemy: Jack Quinn. The man who swoops in, steals her dream job at Lane Publishing, and fires her, saying she just doesn’t have what it takes to be an editor. Now that she’s unemployed, Dancy must find a new career. Coffee barista, English teacher, literary agent. Hmm. Maybe she’ll write a novel–a nasty invective, featuring a relentless job-stealing, coffee-drinking stalker who falls in love with a coffee barista. She’s got time on her hands, so when her friends dare her to send Jack a proposal, under an assumed name, she takes them up on it. If he likes it, she’ll have her ultimate revenge. But what will she do when it turns out that Jack is interested in her book–and maybe more?

Chautona Havig

Price: $0.99

If you are looking for an escape and enjoy the other books in the Rockland Chronicles, this one is for you! One of the things I love is that her storylines are all so different and her characters are just real-life, regular people! As with all Ms. Havig’s works, I read it start to finish straight through (until after 1AM), and it was 100% worth getting very little sleep last night.

When one plus one equals thirty-one…

It happens every day.
Guy meets grandpa–and girl.
Guy knocks grandpa off ladder
Guy kisses girl to make it “all better.”
Every day.
For a month.
Just your normal, average, all-American romance…

Meet Chessie and Carson. She goes “all out” for Christmas (and every other holiday including Columbus Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Flag Day); he doesn’t own a single thing that could be considered decorative–unless you count the stickers he stuck to his dresser back when he was three.

Neither of them have ever had a serious relationship; both are opposed to frivolous expressions of affection. How on earth did they get tangled up in a “kiss-a-day-during-December” pact?
