It Works! Skinny Wraps

Have you been thinking about giving Skinny Wraps a try, but you’re just not sure? Read on to find out how the It Works! Skinny Wrap has helped this mother of 7 children be happier with her tummy area. Please read my story below!

I have seen so many posts on Facebook and on other blogs, about these wraps, and I really wanted to give them a try for myself! I have seven children so I have some toning and tightening to do for my belly area…beyond what diet and exercise can accomplish, I’m afraid!

I finally decided to give the wraps a try after I saw my good friend KerryAnn posting about them on her blog, Intentionally Domestic.

The first wrap that I tried, I followed all of the directions to a ‘T’. I even marked three different areas on my side with a sharpie so that I was sure to measure in the exact same spot to count up all of the inches I lost, and I drank a quart of water while my wrap was on. I took some before pictures so that I would have a visual comparison.

When I took off my wrap I snapped another shot and re-measured. No inch loss. No change in the pictures. No change in the way my clothes fit.

Bummer. But I didn’t worry, because it says you’ll see the full results after 72 hours.

I faithfully measured, took pictures, and continued to drink lots of water, with no detectable change.

Double Bummer.

Thanks to some tips from my distributor, I was able to re-use my first wrap (you fold it back up and put it in a zip top bag with all the air removed. I re-marked, re-measured, and took another picture.

After removing my second wrap I decided to wait until the next morning to check up on my results. I drank a lot of water throughout the day, but honestly, I wasn’t expecting to see much of any change in the morning.

Surprise, surprise!!!

I was walking around in disbelief at the changes I saw and then I decided to put on a pair of jeans that I tried on the week prior. Last week, I had to take those jeans off after an hour because they were so tight through the middle I was afraid that either my head would pop off, or the poor button holding the jeans together would pop off.

The jeans slid right on and buttoned up easily, no sucking it in, no laying on the floor, no rubber band trick, (you know, the one you use when you’re pregnant, but not ready to put on maternity jeans!) they fit so nicely, and were even a bit loose.

So, that’s the first part of my story. And as much as I’d love to show you my own picture proof, I’m not going to. I’ve still got a lot of work to do before I’ll be comfortable showing my ‘after’ picture, but one day I will!

My friend Michelle told me not to worry though, I could share her pictures, so that’s what I’m going to do!

Michelle is the mother of 9! children, all born via C-section, which makes the tummy problem even harder to solve!Β These pictures were after 7 wraps total.

So What Is It?

The wrap is a a non-woven cloth infused with herbs and botanicals. You apply the wrap to the spot where you want to tighten, tone, and smooth (most people put it on their belly first, and then go after other areas like back, rear, thighs, arms, even the neck). You then wrap yourself up in some plastic cling wrap, ace bandages, or something else that will hold the wrap on (the wrap doesn’t have an adhesive).

You leave the wrap on for at least 45 minutes, but up to 8 hours. The first time you try out your wrap, you should only leave it on for 45 minutes in case it irritates your skin. Some people will sleep in the wrap, but I haven’t tried that yet.

While you have the wrap on, you need to drink a lot of water, this will help flush your system out and improve your results. After you have removed the wrap, it’s best to keep on drinking lots of water, and continue doing so for the next 72 hours to enhance your results.

You can wrap every 72 hours, or you can do it less. If you are really trying to attack a specific area, then go ahead and wrap every 3 days, that’s exactly what I’m doing! But don’t forget that you can re-use a wrap one time, just make sure to fold it back up, put it in a zip top bag and get all of the air out.

My mother asked me to post a picture of what the wrap looks like when it’s applied, so I found this picture of the wrap on different body parts. (You can thank my Mom, her name’s Daphne)

    • I know the feeling Mariska! My baby is 5 months old and up until a few weeks ago, things were not looking good.

  7. Kathy Linklater says

Hmmm… this sounds too good to be true… πŸ™‚ I would definitely try my tummy area first, then my “saddlebag” area. πŸ™‚

  10. Oh my – I would LOVE to win this! That is exactly where I need to lose my weight!!

  11. I am uber skeptical about these types of products….how long do the results last? Temporary? Curious enough to try it, though!! Thanks!

    • Kaci, I was pretty skeptical at first too, until I saw KerryAnn’s post from She’s a whole foods blogger with a lot of credibility, so I trusted what she said. The results will last as long as you are taking care of yourself, ie. drinking enough water, eating healthy whole foods, etc. You can’t just eat junk all the time then wrap occasionally and expect to see good results. The wraps work by nourishing the skin and the cells, so its your job to continue nourishing your body for lasting results through good health practices (water, fruits and veggies, exercise).

  12. I would love to try it even though it looks too easy.

  13. I would love to try this on my stomach!

  14. I would love to try one because I am still flabby from being pregnant & I am wanting to lose 50 pounds and think this would be a great jump start. Ive been so discouraged because my thyroid makes it hard to lose anything. Ive been dieting like crazy & getting no where!

  15. I’d love to try this on my belly.

  16. I’m game for giving it a try. I’ve got two kids and a tummy that proves it πŸ™‚

  20. I need this! Would love to see if it could help my tummy!!

  21. I would love to try this! I’m currently working on losing weight, but my post-baby tummy could use some firming!

  22. 3 babies in 4 years, and the youngest is two. Still cannot get the tummy jiggle to go away.

  23. I still can’t figure out if this is real or not, but what IS real is my tummy and my thighs! I have 7 children, the youngest is now 4. I thought the roll around my waist would retreat by now, but after my twins (#4 and #5) it just won’t go away. Hope I win!

  24. I’m trying to lose weight and my belly and thighs are real trouble areas. I’d love to try the wraps to see if they will work but there isn’t any money in the budget to spare right now. If I win, I could try them out without having to put out $ I don’t have to spend right now.

  25. Pamela Massaway says

Would like to try this again now that I know more thank you.

  26. I have to admit I am a bit skeptical, but if these wraps really do work that would be awesome. I have five children and my tummy area is in desperate need of help. I try and eat pretty clean and exercise but yet my stomach remains pooched out. I am tired of people asking when I’m due. πŸ™ It’s embarrassing and a bit humiliating . If money were no object and it was painless I probably would have had some sort of plastic surgery by now! Thanks for the opportunity to try these wraps!

  27. I do a cleanse a few times each year that lasts 10-14 days and has good results, but is complicated. I would love to try something that doesn’t keep me in the bathroom for 14 days straight!

  28. Hi. I’m 5 months postpartum with baby #3… Guess you could call me a prime candidate for these wraps. Bring it on…bye bye baby fat πŸ™‚

  29. I would love to try these wraps! After 3 kids (via c-section) diet and exercise are just not cutting it for me. I think these wraps would be perfect! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  30. After having kids, I have not been able to get rid of that first-trimester-belly look. Interested to see if this would really work for me.

  31. Would love to tighten up my ab area. πŸ™‚

  32. Baby #2 is 4 months old, #1 just tured 2. I have saggy, gross skin on my stomach and it is the cause of the single biggest self-image problem I have had. I’m hoping to find something less drastic or invasive than plastic surgery, and wraps seem to be an easy way to try.

  33. Jacque Wiebe says

I would love to try this to shrink my belly. Would really like to see if it works.

  34. I’ve been reading about these wraps for a few months now and was hesitant to put out our hard earned money. However, after reading your post I’d certainly like to give it a try. To win this contest would be the icing on the cake! My oldest is 21 and after undergoing an emergency hysterectomy and being on HRT my body is screaming for some TLC. Here’s hoping!! πŸ˜‰

  35. Mechelle Dunlap says

I’ve had 4 children. My last baby is currently 3 months old. I’d love to try a wrap to see if I can bring some form of normalcy back to my nasty belly.

  36. I want to try this to see if it indeed works. Sometimes these things are just gimmicks, but I’ve always trusted your site before. I would like to see if these will help me fit into my wedding dress of choice!
