The Diary of a De-cluttering Junkie: Episode 2 (The Diary of a Decluttering Junkie 2)
Price: FREE
My 10 year old daughter and I both love reading about the adventures of Kaye and Purrlock. Chautona is such a good author and I look forward to her books
Her family doesn’t know what to think of her and her. While Jacob does enjoy the streamlined beauty of his new life, he is also just as frustrated as their sons as Kaye goes from clean up to clear out–including treasured possessions.
Who knew that what started out as a survival technique would become an addiction?
Episode One: With the laundry room and entryway closet under her belt, Kaye’s certain she’s ready for a more challenging closet–the Game Closet. Alas, what seemed to be a reasonable task becomes a battle of more than which games to keep and which have to go.
Tensions mount in the Harper household as Kaye discovers that much of her identity is wrapped up in being a “bargain hunter.”
But when Kaye tackles–albeit unintentionally–one of the worst rooms in the house as she searches for an attachment to her mixer, tempers flare and explode, leaving hurt feelings scattered throughout the house.
The Diary of a Decluttering Junkie is a six-episode serial novel.

Calling of Emily Evans, The (Women of the West Book #1)
Price: FREE
I always enjoy historical fiction and especially anything by Janette Oke. I happened across this book while trying to find something new to interest me. It is a wonderful story of a young girl who heads out to answer her call to minister to a small rural community. Along the way she faces challenges and hardships. She even has moments of doubt when tragedy strikes, but her faith helps her find the strength to help those who need her most. In the end it also helps her to find love. This story is simple, but compelling and you won’t want to put it down.
Emily Evans has a hard time getting herself to class on time, much less figuring out God’s will for her life. Then, to her surprise, she feels that God is calling her into full-time Christian service. She expects the Lord will also provide her with a companion to share her life and ministry, but Emily does not want to marry any of the available young men. She squares her shoulders and decides she will accept the task of opening a new church in a pioneer community–alone.
When Emily arrives at her new assignment, she is disappointed to find the church building in disrepair. After many days of hard work fixing it up, she announces her first service and is once again disappointed, this time in the size of her congregation. Is her faith strong enough to stand against the local doubters and myriad challenges that will test her calling?

Finally! A book about the Amish that wasn’t completely a proverbial religious book. It is definitely not for you if that is what you are looking for, but it was a breath of fresh air. It dealt with love, loss, and betrayal in a unique way. The writing was decent and the story was fairly deep.
Years ago, Simon lied to ensure a future with Rachel Zook as his wife. Now Rachel is barren, a disappointment to him. Unaware of the lie Simon told to drive Jacob away, Rachel believes Jacob abandoned her when he left the Amish community. Shocked when he returns with two-year-old twins, Rachel knows there can be nothing between them, for marriage is a life-long commitment among the Amish. But the twins need a mother and Rachel loves children. As she cares for Jacob’s children as if they were her own, her feelings for him deepen into a love that cannot be.
Jacob’s Return is the story of a prodigal son, a forbidden love, and a fanatical preacher. As shocking as it is compelling, Jacob’s Return is both uplifting and unforgettable. A wonderful read, this is a universal story about love and faith in impossible circumstances.
Please Note: This is a Sexy Historical Romance in Amish setting with sexual content

Actually, I would give it 10 stars!!!! This is the first Kingsbury book I’ve read. Couldn’t put it down. Smiled, laughed, cried a lot. Very believable characters. Very touching scenes. Her descriptions of the persons involved in this story make you wonder if this is not fiction, but real. I fell in love with the characters. I was convicted in my spirit when the characters rededicated their lives to God.

I read October Baby while on a recent road trip and could hardly put it down. It’s a great story and you will have all kinds of feelings as you read it. Besides being an enjoyable read, this book really caused me to think about some big issues and the many facets of these issues. I wondered if knowing the basics of the story would make the book less interesting, but it didn’t interfere with enjoying the book at all
