Courting Miriam (Out of Darkness – Amish Connections 3

This is a beautiful story about keeping faith in God and in the one you love. I was rooting for the two main characters, Miriam and Samuel, from the first page. I also enjoyed the details about Amish life. For a Christian romance that will leave you smiling, you won’t go wrong with Courting Miriam.
After a harrowing journey from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Elkhart County, Indiana, it seems there’s something special between Samuel Hershberger and Miriam Umble, but when the road is behind them and secrets are revealed, will the couple’s fragile relationship survive Miriam’s homecoming? And what about Andrew Kauffman, the handsome Amish widower who promises Miriam everything that Samuel can’t give? Find out in this third and final novella of Amish Connections, part seven of the Out of Darkness Amish romance series.

I enjoyed the depth of the characters (move over Mr. Darcy, David Weeks is pretty amazing!), getting to better know & spend time with ‘friends’ from Ms. Havigs’ other Rockland/Fairbury/etc. books, and of course, the story itself. I have yet to read a book by Chautona Havig that hasn’t uplifted & encouraged me personally & spiritually.
When Dani wakes with no knowledge of who or where she is–no memories of her life at all–David and Dani Weeks discover that “til death do us part” takes on an entirely unexpected meaning. Practically speaking, Dani died. But she didn’t.
In a desperate attempt to separate the old life from the new, Dani insists on a new name–Ella.
Ella’s doctors can’t explain what happened. Her children can’t understand why she doesn’t know them, and her husband finds himself torn between admiration for the “new” version of his wife and missing the woman he’s known for over fifteen years.
Will Ella ever regain her memory? Why does their pastor suspect it’s one great hoax?
