Poison Me

I loved the characters in this book especially Ruby. A great story well written. Another one I could hardly put down. I highly recommend this one.

Gladys J. Stuckless

The police believe the deaths are accidental, but Ruby knows better.
Jake Merrill was raised by his grandmother, Ruby, and her hilarious friends. After a suspicious death at the retirement home where Ruby lives, she enlists Jake and Chanel, the beautiful activities director, to help her find the killer.

But secrets Ruby has kept for decades threaten her family and the man she’s always loved but could never have. Chanel’s unstable ex-boyfriend, a presumably dead relative, and vicious criminals add to the confusion. Time is running out as Jake, Chanel, and Ruby desperately search for clues to solve the murders and fight to save those they love.

“Poison Me made me laugh out loud and thoroughly enjoy myself. I wish I had a friend like Ruby! Snappy dialogue, romance, and a strong sense of family made this book well worth reading.”
Rachel Ann Nunes, bestselling author of Line of Fire and Before I Say Goodbye

The Faithful One

Michele Hartlove

Price: FREE

I am sure we have all asked ourselves one time or another – what did I (or they) do to deserve this? Or maybe we know someone who lost a loved one to cancer or another horrible disease? How do we keep the faith and keep believing in God? This story is a good example – how to be strong even when things can’t get any worse! It’s about trusting God again. I am not a very fast reader but I read this one pretty fast – it kept my attention and I didn’t want to put it down! Can’t wait to read her next novel!!

Kim H.

Seth Jacobs has it all — a successful business, a mansion in greater Boston, a beautiful wife and three loving children. Yet, in a series of events beyond his control Seth loses everything, including his health. Struggling to find some understanding amidst his pain, Seth’s faith is challenged further by his wife Maria, who betrays him, and even his friends, who suggest that perhaps God has His reasons for inflicting so much suffering upon him.
At the end of his rope, Seth meets Lucille O’Hanlon, a young yet wise social worker who tries to help him realize the spiritual solution he so desperately seeks. Lucille also begins to fill the void left by Seth’s losses, and as they grow closer together, he must finally determine if their relationship is of God’s Will or just his own.

Seth questions God as we all do in times of hardship. With Lucille’s help, he finally receives an unexpected answer to his despair and is faced with decisions that will determine the new path his life takes. A modern-day story based on the Book of Job, The Faithful One inspires us all to have a little faith no matter what.

What Readers Are Saying:
“The author gives us a front-row seat to watch one of the country’s most successful businessmen and his family descend into the abyss of despair at warp-speed. The catastrophic events come fast and often and it is impossible to put the book down. The book provides a credible, but difficult, understanding of the sanctity of one’s marriage vows and faith in GOD.”
– Dennis Hildebrandt

“I met you on Sunday at the Baltimore Book Festival. I stayed up late on Monday night to finish reading the book and am happy to report that I really enjoyed it. (It even made me cry a couple of times!) I liked The Faithful One better than The Shack since you stayed true to the Book of Job – it made me want to go back and read Job again. It was thought-provoking and inspiring, and I will recommend it to the women in my book group at church. I’ll certainly be looking forward to your next book!”
– Suzanne Steiner

“I bought your book there when you were signing them. I read the book and was very much impressed. The Book of Job has always been a good read for me and you put it in a modern setting in The Faithful One. I am recommending it for our church library and to the church book club for reading and review. Keep writing and may God Bless you.”
– Skip Albert

“I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Faithful One. It is quite a page turner and an easy read. The book guided me to examine my own life after finishing it. When I reached the final page I was sad the reading experience was over, but I knew the story and its message would stick with me for some time. I have recommended reading this book to all my friends and family. It has been chosen by our book club to be the next selection of the month.”

The Beginning: An eShort prequel to The Bridge

Karen Kingsbury

Price: FREE

A prequel to THE BRIDGE, releasing on October 23rd, THE BEGINNING is a beautiful short story about what can happen when life’s tragedies intersect with hope, dreams, and the unfolding of God’s plans. A bookstore becomes a place where lives are changed, friends are made, and healing is experienced. I felt a renewed appreciation for books in general…for the influence they have in our lives, especially when reading these lines, “Books were changing her life. But she didn’t consider the idea that they could do so much more. That they might actually heal her.” Whether short or long, I can always count on the stories of Karen Kingsbury to cause tears to flow and to find a warm, special place in my heart. THE BEGINNING has only whet my appetite further as I excitedly anticipate the release of THE BRIDGE. I encourage you to let it whet yours too!
