This was a very endearing story of second chances. Throw in two adorable little boys and its hard not to fall in love with this book.

When Eric lost his wife to a short battle with cancer, he knew he couldn’t go on as he’d been doing. Tina had been his rock and his best friend – the one who had held the family together while he traveled into the city to film his own TV show. With her dying, he became lost.

But one thing he knew was that he needed to be there for his seven-year-old twins. He resigned from his show, packed up everything and moved to a small town. He was lucky to get a job in the general hospital in a larger town a few miles away, but he needs help with the boys, especially after school.

Everywhere he goes one name keeps popping up – Debra Brown. From the reports he hears, she’s the answer to his prayers, his guardian angel and fairy godmother all rolled into one.

But no matter how hard he tries, she won’t talk to him. Finally, he decides to play dirty and ambushes her with his kids in tow. If what he’s heard is true, she won’t be able to resist them

Debra has lived in the same small town her entire life. To most of the townfolk, Debra is a sweet angel. After her parents drowned in a boat accident when she was only sixteen, didn’t she drop out of high school and take care of the younger ones? And when her younger sister came back from college and married Debra’s fiancé, did she not smile and prepare a grand wedding for them?

There was no one with a finer heart than Debra Brown and who else can help the Nelson boys in their time of need? But Debra knows better…

I really enjoyed this book as well as all the others I have read from this author. My only complaint is that her stories end a bit too soon. They need a bit more closure. I recommend any of her books because they are clean and well done.

J&J

When Laura Lander’s family invites her to return to her hometown to join them for the Thanksgiving holiday, she’s uncertain. She and her sister haven’t gotten along since they were children, and Laura’s heart still aches from the old hurts.

To complicate matters, she’d left her heart behind years before, and she’s not sure her feelings for family friend, Dalton Jance, are dormant.

Laura accepts the holiday invitation, and finds that her family is falling apart. Her sister’s marriage is seemingly over, her nephew and niece are suffering for it, and her brother is exhausted from trying to run interference.

With God’s help—and a little help from Dalton—can Laura bring her family together again? And will she find her own ‘happily ever after’ with the man who has occupied her dreams for years?

Ella Finds Love Again (Little Valley Series)

Jerry S. Eicher

Price: $2.02 (Kindle) $2.40 (NOOK)

Jerry Eicher has done it again!! Produced a wonderful Amish book!!! I have now read thirteen of Jerry’s books and not one has been a disappointment. How he keeps coming up with new themes, twists, turns in his plots is amazing. The characters are true to life and you find yourself crying and laughing with them, as you become part of their family. My only problem with Ella Finds Love Again, was that I could not put the book down until I had finished reading it. Housework, meals, and bedtime was ignored as I was so engrossed in this book.

Karla Hanns

Bestselling author Jerry Eicher concludes the Little Valley Series with one more glimpse into young Ella’s Amish world. She loves the widower Ivan Stutzman’s children and enjoys caring for them. Although she is genuinely devoted to Preacher Stutzman and keenly aware of his desire to propose, her feelings for him stop short of romantic love. Yet Ella yearns for marriage and wonders if what she and Ivan have is enough.

When the handsome Englisha stops by and asks about converting to the Amish faith, Ella is intrigued and warily agrees to meet with him. Soon Ella realizes she’s torn between her devotion to Ivan and his children and her growing feelings for the Englisha. With dire consequences at stake, Ella must determine what the truth is, if her feelings are dependable, and how to stay faithful to the will of God.

About This Series: The Little Valley Series follows Ella Yoder, a young independent Amish woman who has suffered the loss of her beloved fiancé. Relying on her faith and the support of her community, she picks up the pieces of her shattered life and learns to live, love, and dream again.

Hope shines brightest when all seems lost.

Stephanie London led a life of comfort and ease in St. Louis before feeling inexplicably drawn back to her father’s roots in the tiny Southern town of Hope Springs. Charlotte Willoughby has lived there all her life and longs to make a new life somewhere else. Stephanie doesn’t know exactly what she’s doing there—or how to occupy her time. And Charlotte doesn’t understand why, despite her overbearing family and reminders of her failed engagement, she’s suddenly led to stay.

Despite its small-town charm, Hope Springs itself is at a crossroads. After a failed reconciliation attempt by two well-meaning pastors, the town is split along racial and cultural lines, with little hope for redemption.

When a terrible tragedy puts Hope Springs on the national radar, the entire town is tested, and both Stephanie and Charlotte feel their lives unraveling. In the midst of heartache, though, they’ll discover the true color of hope . . .

“. . . journeys us through the challenge of breaking through prejudice and hurt for the sake of love and faith.” —Rachel Hauck, best-selling author of The Wedding Dress
