Unfriend Yourself: Three Days to Detox, Discern, and Decide About Social Media

Kyle Tennant

Price: FREE

IMO, the most important point Kyle makes is that Facebook doesn’t always facilitate friendships. In fact, too much time spent pursuing digital relationships may make us less relationship-focused in the real world. It’s a poor substitute for the joy of the real thing. Having been a Facebook user for years, I agree with him.
Kyle doesn’t advocate for deleting your account and becoming a Luddite. He simply advocates for more thoughtful and purposeful use. Facebook can serve an enhancement to strong offline relationships, but can’t build them from scratch. Building true friendships that stand the test of time and circumstances is an investment and requires face-to-face interaction.

A. Stahl

We are all connected. To each other, to our devices, to our networks, to everything… The world of social media has turned the rest of our worlds upside down.

Can you disconnect for three days to assess the situation in your own life? This short book is split into three sections to help you DETOX, DISCERN, and DECIDE what role Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and all the rest can and should have in your life. Unfriend Yourself will help you think critically, biblically, and practically from a Christian perspective about the merits and ramifications of our social media culture.

Don’t worry, the world can wait; your friends won’t even know you’re gone-seriously, there are over half a billion of them out there. I doubt you’ll be missed.

Dan Eitreim

Price: FREE

I don’t leave reviews often because I’m not always impressed or influenced by other reviews by others. After reading this book I felt I should. I was impressed on how much was written on lighting and how detailed it was. As a amateur photographer lighting seems to be the hardest to overcome. Taking pictures is an art and this book just improves that ability. Finding the correct shot is crucial and most times its by chance so any ideas to help you with that process is beneficial. I want to thank the author for a well written book that was not to technical for the amateur photographer.
