Laura Carter

Do you have a little girl that loves to play sports in the backyard? Introduce her to Anna in “Anna’s Little League Dreams Come True” so that she can see just how exciting it can be to fulfill her dreams of playing her favorite sport with a team, whether it is baseball, like Anna, or any other sport.

Anna is a fun-loving 5-year old girl that grew up watching her older brother play baseball for the last 4 years. She couldn’t wait for the day that it was her turn to stand at home plate, hit the ball and run the bases. She felt like she knew everything there was to know about tee ball, because not only did she watch her brother play, he also spent many hours with her in the backyard practicing baseball. He made sure that Anna was ready to hit the fields the minute she turned 5!

In “Anna’s Little League Dreams Come True” Anna learns how to follow through on her dreams, sticking to her passions and making her dreams of playing baseball come true. Sometimes girls hesitate to join in on the sports that are considered “boys’ sports”, but Anna shows that anyone that has a passion for the game can jump right in and play. Anna joined her team which included her best friend Tim, on the Diamonds, and showed everyone just how much she knew about baseball. At her very first game she hit the ball to center field and even made an out at 1st base.

“Anna’s Little League Dreams Come True” is a great way to spend time talking to your daughter about following through on her dreams. No matter how much experience your daughter has, if she has a passion for a sport, she should follow through on her dreams. Take your child along on Anna’s journey and then talk to her about her dreams and how the two of you can make them a reality.

Overcoming Math Anxiety and How to Be Successful in Mathematics: The Language of Mathematics and How to Love Math Again

Robby “Zero Angel” Richardson

Price: FREE

this book really explains math anxiety and gives a deeper understanding of math. easy to read and understand. perfect for students or someone just looking to brush up on math skills

domonick

Many people are surprised that math anxiety is documented and accepted. When you think about it though, mathematics is the one subject that continues to build upon itself year after year. Each year, we learn new mathematics that uses the math of the year before. As soon as one gap gets into our education—as soon as we are missing one tool in our math toolbox—our experience with math begins to spiral out of control. It’s something that is hard to avoid.

About the Series:
Zero Angel’s Mathematics is a series of “math help” sections designed to take the reader from no knowledge of mathematics through calculus. Although best used in conjunction with each other, they are split up so the reader that knows where their gaps and misunderstandings lay may only acquire the information they are looking for and not be forced to purchase unnecessary information.

Zero Angel’s Mathematics is one teacher’s attempt to teach the mathematics that should be being taught to students of math today. Math classes everywhere are teaching students to do long multiplication without teaching why we add; teaching cross multiplication without asking why. “Why” is one of the most important questions in mathematics and by teaching mechanical processes without considering their place in mathematics as a field we set students up to be no better than machines.

Unfortunately, this means when confronted with advanced problems, students have no chance of success.

peril

Peril in the Palace: 3 (AIO Imagination Station Books)

Paul McCusker

Price: $3.82 (Kindle), $4.49 (NOOK)

I had never read heard of Adventure in Odessy books until reviewing this book so I was in for a big suprise because this was unlike Junie B Jones, or Fancy Nancy, or Gigi God’s little Princess Books that we are used to reading this had more suspense and more of a history background. In Peril and the Palace Beth helps Mr. Whittaker gather items to help save his friend Albert. Patrick and Beth set out to gather Kublai Khan’s golden tablet when they come against fierce Mongol warriors and meet up with Marco Polo who in turns helps save their lives.
Peril in the Palace is the third book in the series. It is written for ages 7 and up. I read this to myself and then aloud to my ten year old daughter and she wasn’t very interested. I think that this series is more directed toward boys than girls. The book was very well written and included lots of good Christian principles, but I don’t think I would read it again because we only have girls in our house.

revenge

Revenge of the Red Knight: 4 (AIO Imagination Station Books)

Paul McCusker

Price: $3.82 (Kindle), $4.49 (NOOK)

Love these books. My son is a reluctant reader, and these books keep his interest every time. He also feels good about the level at which they written, not too tricky, yet high interest. We love the Christian content. I don’t worry about bad words or wrong ideas being planted in his mind.

In this Imagination Station adventure, Patrick and Beth find themselves as guests in a beautiful castle in 15th-century England. Through a series of events, the steward of Lord Darkthorn’s castle finds the cousins with three artifacts collected in their previous adventures: the stone, the cup, and the golden tablet. They are accused of being thieves and locked in jail. Beth escapes and discovers the identity of the real thief, leading to a jousting contest with a surprising outcome. Set during the War of the Roses in England, Revenge of the Red Knight will teach readers about the Crusades, the integrity of knights and the vows they took, and why men would choose to risk their lives to fight for Christianity.
