All in Good Time by Maureen Lang was a great read! It was the first time I have read anything by her and this book was from her Gilded Legacy series. I am not sure what order the books fall but it is ok because I was not lost in the story because I had no read any of the previous books. I was loving the story and its meaning. I think Maureen Lang is quite a gifted writer. This book is a Christian historical fiction book that even those who are not into Christian book will like it to. The story takes place in Denver Colorado around 1887 and Dessa Caldwell is a woman ahead of her time. She wants to open a place for the town’s prostitutes to seek refuge in a town full of men there to gamble drink and be with these ladies. She has set backs and one is that she is single and needs a loan to start this place. That is where we meet Henry Hawkins. Henry owns the bank. The story that plays out is a lovely one. I want to tell you more but I do not want to ruin this read for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There was history, love and secrets .This will not be the last Maureen Lang book I read. I give this book my 5 star rating I enjoyed it that much.
Henry Hawkins has a secret: though he owns the most successful bank in town, his initial capital came from three successful raids on Wells Fargo coaches. Now he’s the most eligible bachelor in Denver, but to protect his criminal past, he’s built a fortress around his heart. Not even the boldest matchmaking mother can tempt him . . . until the day Dessa Caldwell ventures into his bank requesting a loan.
Though he’s certain her proposal is a bad investment, Henry is drawn to Dessa’s passion. But that same passion drives her to make rash decisions about Pierson House . . . and about whom she can trust. One man might hold the key to the future of her mission—but he also threatens to bring Henry’s darkest secrets to light. As the walls around their hearts begin to crumble, Henry and Dessa must choose between their plans and God’s, between safety and love.

Daughter of Joy (Brides of Culdee Creek Book #1)

This is book is excellent. The characters are complex and believable. The basic storyline may have been spun hundreds of times but this by far outshines all the ones I’ve read, and I’ve read a lot. When you get to a book like this you realize this is “Fine dining”! Ms Morgan obviously incorporated and instilled her own suffering into a beautiful book.
