Kevin and the Seven Lions

Martin Tiller

Price: FREE

This story is about a young boy who daydreams a lot and therefore cannot focus on his tasks. His frustrated teacher provides a notebook for Kevin to write down his daydreams, seemingly to help him learn to finish his dream and to teach him how to daydream in a constructive manner. The reader is introduced to several day dreams which are beautifully illustrated. Although this book does not specifically address how to handle daydreaming and refocus children on the task at hand, it does address that children who do not feel understood can feel accepted when the adults in their lives choose to view their nuances in a different light. This story is about honoring and nurturing creativity. It’s a good book for any grade-school child with imaginative or artistic tendancies.

Nearly eaten by dinosaurs, shot at by aliens, almost drowned by a giant squid, all while trying to pay attention in school is a normal day for Kevin. How does his teacher, Mrs. Calvin, keep from going crazy?
Kevin and the Seven Lions is a picture book leveled for second and third grade readers. It is a story about the joys of a vivid imagination, and the benefits of writing.

This is so cute book about little sibling mice. Short chapters, very nice and funny illustrations. I always loved reading tale books about mice, and this one is definitely worth of investment. I love this story!

I love the rhyming rhythm of this book and the simple, sweet message about honoring ourselves, our friends and our environment. My 2 year old notices the emotions that the animals display and loves to point out the little changes that takes place as the story unfolds. I would highly recommend adding this to your library.
