Sea Turtles: Amazing Pictures & Fun Facts on Animals in Nature (Our Amazing World Series)
Price: FREE
I just finished reading this book and I can’t wait to read it to my two young daughters – they will be thrilled for sure!
The pictures are amazing and the facts provided about Sea Turtles generally and specifically for each type of Sea Turtle is very interesting and informative!
I have learnt so many things about Sea Turtles I did not know and I have been around a while!
Definitely Recommended!
This series is known as one of the most beautiful on the kindle. The pictures look great even in black and white and are excellent on the full color kindle. The description in the large text beneath is simple enough for early readers or for a parent to guide a child through.
There are also picture captions that provide more information to talk about with your child. Alternatively, a child of any age (even the child in you) can just look at the images and appreciate its beauty.
This book depicts the wonder of the world of Sea Turtles. Children are given a well-rounded understanding of this beautiful creature: its anatomy, feeding habits and behavior. The following Sea Turtles are featured:
* The herbivorous Green Sea Turtle
* The beautiful Hawksbill Sea Turtle
* The petite Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle
* The solitary Loggerhead Sea Turtle
* The king-sized Leatherback Sea Turtle
* The unusual Olive Ridley Sea Turtle
I enjoyed compiling this book. I even learned a few things along the way. Perhaps you will too.

Surprise in the Kitchen (a mia book)
Price: FREE
This is Mary Lee’s third book in her Mia Children Book series. It is just as brilliant as the previous two books. Even as an adult I was eager to find out how Mia’s kitchen adventure would end. I tested the previous two books on my grandchildren and they loved them. I am now looking forward to surprise them with another Mia story.

While I normally do not read fiction I must say that the moments I had reading Princess Paisley aloud to my three youngest children were some of the most precious book reading moments we’ve shared. I always enjoy meeting people who live outside of the expected mold and Princess Paisley and others we met in the story were that way. It takes courage and strength to live in confidence with who you are and I was glad my children got to see that lived out in the story. Author Chautona Havig, did well in getting me to step outside of my comfort zone and dive into this fiction read and I’m so glad she did.

My random thoughts:
When a book starts off with, “Once upon a long long time ago, in a land impossibly far away”. It’s hard to read that, and not cozy down, knowing you are in for an incredible read.
Everard is one of the strangest, Wittiest, Most unique (Unique doesn’t have it’s own -est?), and whimsical fantasy novels I’ve ever read. From Sassy’s sweetly sour sarcasm, to the Author’s quirky narrating, I was kept in stitches. While reading, it wasn’t uncommon for me to snort with laughter, or to huff with Sassy when Everard really was being SUCH a man (if I was a fire breathing reptile, I’d blast smoke through my nostrils too. But I’m not, so I can’t).
When my siblings would come up, and ask what I was reading, the best explanation my preoccupied brain could think to say, was, “An awkward prince”. Which isn’t very bright, but when your mind is in a land impossibly far away, you can say such things like that.
Everard is, indeed, an awkward Prince. He might not be tripping all over his feet, and he might not be spilling mugs each time he turns around, he bumbles all the same. However, while he might be a plain out awkward goose in the beginning, at the end, he is more, adorably awkward. Oh, yeah, without a doubt, Everard turns out simply adorable.
Everard of Havilund—fierce warrior, brave soldier, loyal friend, heir to the throne, and painfully shy.
The war is over! Or is it? After four long years fighting in a war that has spanned a millennium, Everard is finally going home. He has faced everything he fears most—he thinks. Alas, trouble is brewing in the little hamlet of Hidden Hollow and he has only himself to blame.
Follow Everard as he tries to slay the Dragon of Ironia, face the Giant of the Tripp Mountains, bring the Enchantress of Enervatia to justice… just for starters.
Will he succeed? Will he overcome his personal demons that threaten all he is working for?

Cloaked in Secrets (Annals of Wynnewood)
Price: 99 cents
Our family loved Shadows and Secrets, and adored Cloaked in Secrets. Chautona Havig has outdone herself as a writer yet again, and Craig Worrell’s map and illustrations are wonderful! This book takes the reader through incredible adventures, miraculous survival, lessons on pride, and leaves you looking forward to book three without the annoyance of an actual cliffhanger ending.
