My Dinosaur is Scared of Vegetables (Fun Rhyming Children’s Books)

Lily Lexington

Price: 99 cents

My four-year-old daughter wanted to help me write the review so these are her words: ‘I love the dinosaur book. It was funny he didn’t like vegetables. But I do like them. It was (also) funny when he tried to hide under the table. He was too big.’ Now, as her father, I would like to add that this was an enjoyable book to read to my children. We will be looking at others by this author. Keep up the writing!

A. Catron

That is the reason he stays out of sight.”

Pibbin the Small: A Tale of Friendship Bog (Friendship Bog Series)

Pibbin the Small: A Tale of Friendship Bog (Friendship Bog Series)

Gloria Repp (Author), Tim Davis (Illustrator), Bill Beck (Photographer)

Price: FREE

Pibbin the treefrog’s adventures are exciting for a child as he travels through Bullfrog Bog to find Sweetberry leaves to help heal his hurt friend. The descriptions are picturesque and will capture a 4-7 years old’s imagination. But they are realistic too giving an appropriate idea of boggs and the area. There is even a hint of mystery as everyone wondered who picked the large leaves Pibbin needs. The book is charming with a message – a friend will do whatever is necessary to help a friend in need. Pibbin was a true friend. The illustrations are beautiful and the color pictures a lesson in themselves. Excellent chidren’s book.

Little Buggies: A Rhyming Guessing Book For Little Ones (baby – age 5)

Cindy Bracken

Price: FREE

This is another wonderful book by this author! The cover and illustrations are colorful, and the title explains it perfectly! I love that it has the child guessing what the bug is that is hiding by just seeing a little bit of the bug on the first page, and then the following page shows a colorful picture of the bug. An ant, butterfly, ladybug, beetle, spider, dragonfly, and bee are the bugs searched for. I downloaded it to my iPhone and it was formatted perfectly and the font was easy to read.

The Hiccupotamus

The Hiccupotamus

Aaron Zenz

Price: $3.99

My 3 yr. old son received this book for his birthday and he and his 17 mo. old sister LOVE it. They want to read it all the time, at least 3 times in a row. They love making the ‘Hic’ sound for the Hippo and his friends, and my son can already fill in the blanks of the story with the silly words! He also sits and reads it aloud to himself saying, ‘Hic’ at every page. We love this fun and whimsical book! The pictures are so beautifully detailed and engaging, the kids stare at them at length. A book definitely worth your time and money if you have small children.

Megan, a stay at home mom

There was a hippopotamus
who hiccupped quite-a-lotamus.
And every time he got’emus . . .
he’d fall upon his bottomus!

Calamity ensues when an elephant, a centipede, and a rhinoceros try finding a cure for hippo’s colossal case of hiccups. Zenz’s creativity shines through with his use of colored pencil in this off-the-wall read-aloud. HIC! HIC! HIC!
