In this historical fiction, Dianne loses a great deal in her quest to better the lives of her mother and siblings. She urges them to travel across the country in a wagon train to the new Montana Territory, but in the process, she loses much. Some loss comes by death, some by distance, some by a distant heart…but will she find herself and what she loves most? Just when resolution seems eminent, a cliffhanger… At times, I thought I could read no more, but I couldn’t put it down!

Daughter of Joy (Brides of Culdee Creek, Book 1)

This is book is excellent. The characters are complex and believable. The basic storyline may have been spun hundreds of times but this by far outshines all the ones I’ve read, and I’ve read a lot. When you get to a book like this you realize this is “fine dining”! Ms Morgan obviously incorporated and instilled her own suffering into a beautiful book.

I was lucky enough to read the review of your book in the Centralia Chronicle several months ago. Much to my surprise, I met your husband at the doctor’s office and he noticed I was reading the Kindle. He asked how I liked it and I informed him I had over 450 books already in my library. He told me about your book and I was so excited to read it, that I ordered it while he was at his appointment. I was already reading chapter 5 when he came out, by the end of the day I had completed the book, by using the audio while I was canning. You have a great talent to make the characters come to life and a passion to keep the book moving rapidly through the pages. I hope to see (and hear) more of you and your books in the future.
When Thomas Quinn is eight-years-old, he asks a promise of an Irish sea captain: “If ever I should become like me father will you dunk me under the water ’til I cannot breathe? Will you, sir, please?”
The captain agrees.
Ten years later, Thomas is a womanizer, a thief and a drunk, who remembers a promise, but doesn’t know what it was about or who it was with. While flirting with a young woman in a Galway marketplace, he is accosted by her grandfather who knows far more about him than he should.
Spooked, Thomas goes on a drunken binge. Late that night, he is knocked out by someone wielding a club. When he wakes, he finds himself tied to a ship’s yardarm by his ankles and dunked over and over into Galway Bay until he cannot breathe. Only then does he learn that the young woman’s grandfather is captain of the ship.
Kidnapped and taken out to sea, Thomas fights with the sailors, steals ale from the hold, runs from a battle with a female pirate and falls in love with the captain’s granddaughter.
But it isn’t until he finds out who he really is that Thomas’ restless soul finds its way home.
