The Most Important Thing Happening: A Novel in Stories

The Most Important Thing Happening: A Novel in Stories

Mark Steele

Price: FREE

Mark’s creativity seems to ignore the fences between traditional mediums, and lucky for us, spans a wild repertoire of delightful vignettes. Basically, he doesn’t do part II or part III. Instead, he challenges himself to explore the next horizon, painting its sunset differently than before, and offering we readers a completely new and invigorating taste of God’s eternity.

Secrets of the Heart (The Ravensmoore Chronicles)

Secrets of the Heart (The Ravensmoore Chronicles)

Jillian Kent

I just had a new baby and when I found myself HOPING the baby would wake up in the middle of the night so that I could read more of this novel, I knew I was hooked. Jillian Kent does a fabulous job of creating a story around characters that feel like friends and of bringing up historical and social issues in a way that makes you want to know more. I highly recommend this book!

Madeline Whittington, daughter of the deceased Earl of Richfield, emerges from English society’s prescribed period of mourning in the winter of 1815. Madeline believes that she no longer belongs in a world of gossip and gowns; instead she wants to help the orphans living within the walls of Ashcroft Insane Asylum. Once there, she discovers a dark secret within the asylum walls.

Because of his elder brother’s unexpected death, Devlin Greyson becomes Earl of Ravensmoore and struggles between two worlds: one of affluence and privilege and one of poverty and disease. Torn between his desire to become a doctor and the numerous responsibilities of his title, he wrestles with God’s will for his future. Will he be able to honor this God-given gift and win the woman he falls in love with in a society that does not value gentlemen who work? And will Lady Madeline Whittington be able to honor her father’s memory when she is attracted to the one man who could destroy the promise she made to her father?

MENDING RUTH'S HEART (The Heart's Journey Series, Book Two)

MENDING RUTH’S HEART (The Heart’s Journey Series, Book Two)

Great book! It is full of lessons on why we should not “judge” others. I just enjoyed reading the story about Ruth’s journey to overcome her grief after losing her fiancee and finding a whole new world after she got to San Francisco through the eyes and actions of a family friend’s daughter. It was great to see Ruth mature and grow to love again. I would like to read the story of her grandmother’s journey West. I would definitely recommend it! You might want to read the first book about her grandmother before reading this one.

Elaine F.

Two years after her fiancé Miguel’s death, Ruth Sanchez still mourns. Sent to San Francisco by her loving family to refresh her spirit, Ruth starts to heal with the help of Abigail Granville, a feisty young “reportress,” and Abby’s friend, Ted Crane. Ruth’s new affection and admiration for Ted begin to crack, however, when she suspects him of following in the path of his criminal grandfather. Just when she learns the truth about Ted, San Francisco shatters in the Great Earthquake of 1906.

A story of judgment, atonement and forgiveness, Mending Ruth’s Heart will especially appeal to fans of Kit Austen’s Journey as they get to know Kit and Daniel’s spirited granddaughter and learn the fate of their tormentor, Billy Crane.
