The Kitten That Roared: A Kitten Called Kitters

The Kitten That Roared: A Kitten Called Kitters

Bob Guelfi (Author), Rebecca Brooks-Guelfi (Illustrator)

Price: FREE

As an adult I can still appreciate children’s books, especially books that are as cute as this one. Bob Guelfi and Rebecca Brooks-Guelfi make the perfect team. Together they tell the story of a little kitten that learns to have courage. Kitters pretends to be a tiger until one day she really has to act like one. Will she face her ultimate challenge or slink away in the grass? This book even got a laugh out of me as it was pretty funny. The story is quite short – about 11 Kindle pages and the text is written over the pictures which makes it feel like a real children’s book. I read this on a regular Kindle but I can imagine it is much more colorful on the Kindle Fire. If you love cats, you will adore this book.

Rebecca of Amazon

In this special watercolor edition, Kitters is an adorable orange tabby who learns important life lessons through her daily experiences. Her dreams and natural curiosity draw her into adventures that always end in a valuable truth for you and I. Children and cat lovers of all ages will love this series with it’s vibrant illustrations and positive messages.

“The Kitten That Roared” is the first story in the Kitters series. Today, Kitters learns how to be brave in spite of her small stature.

The Littlest Pirate (A Fun Children's Picture Book)

The Littlest Pirate (A Fun Children’s Picture Book)

Michael Yu

Price: 99 cents

This children’s story was fantastic. I loved how the smallest character was the hero in the end. I think this was the part that my children identified with the most. Overall, Michael Yu’s children books are always so joyful and colorful to read. They are a welcome addition to our library.

Emma Peterson

Have you ever wanted to be included in an activity or an event, but were told you did not qualify to do so because of your size or strength? Pirate Pete is a young boy who desperately wants to be treated like everyone else. However, being the littlest pirate on the ship, he is told that he is not big enough to explore the island for the buried treasure. What will he do? Dart and the Squirrels

Dart and the Squirrels

Nicole Izmaylov (Author), Michelle Izmaylov (Illustrator)

Price: FREE

“Dart and the Squirrels” is a charming chapter book for young readers. It’s delightful, imaginative and fun, written in an engaging fashion to appeal to children. The characters are shown from the dog’s perspective and frequently are foolish or downright annoying to the canine contingent. Dart feels he is the only sane, levelheaded one in the entire household.

Dellani Oakes

Name’s Dart – short for d’Artagnan. You may not think much of a grizzled old German Shepherd with a torn ear and a nasty bite, but, trust me, when you’ve spent your whole life dogging it out in the pound, you learn appearances can be deceiving. I mean, just look at that squirrel. Nutty, crazy, you name it. If that sly squirrel isn’t chewing up Banshee’s homework and blaming me, she’s stealing my food, following me around the house, stealing my food, biting my tail, and, did I mention the worst part, stealing my food! This is outrageous! A proud purebred – okay, semi-purebred – German Shepherd such as myself can’t stand for this! I’ll sit. Hey, since you’re here, why don’t you listen up to my complaints? All my doggy pals like them – and their reviews are a little “ruff.”

Mr. Blue - A Job for You

Mr. Blue – A Job for You

Laurie Donahue (Author), Bryan Hintz (Illustrator)

Price: $3.99

We are all born with different talents and abilities, and that is OK, because God has a plan for all of us! This message is communicated in such a simple and fun way that kids reading this will quickly understand that God created each person exactly as He intended, and that He did not make a mistake, though we all feel insecure at times in our life. The hilarious drawings and vibrant colors will keep kids engaged as the pages turn, and the positive message within is a refreshingly practical tool with which to educate your kids. And don’t miss the subplot in the background, that little yellow bird is too funny!

Joss T.

Sad Mr. Blue sits on the side of the road as his friends busily pass by, each happily on his/her way to do a very important job. Little does Mr. Blue know that God has already prepared a special job for him to do, that is, until his curiosity gets the best of him. Mr. Blue a Job for You is filled with vibrant colors and intriguing connections, with a bird and worm to find on every page.

Great Message: We can sit on the sidelines feeling sorry for ourselves when we compare ourselves to everyone else. Or we can see that God has created us for our own special purpose and He has already planned good things for us to do- we need to get out and do them! 🙂
Through the rhyming text, the reader will encounter colors, shapes, numbers, and alliteration. The twist at the end provide encouragement for all ages.
