I’m not going to tell you the end of the story, but will say that Libby goes from one mishap to another in her stubborn dedication to become free, only to end up in prison and charged with murder. Carroll keeps you page flipping until the very end in a tale that keeps the reader dangling from the end of a rope. I’m eagerly awaiting Carroll’s next book.
Liberty Longstreet was left at the altar, but that wasn’t the worst of her day. She awakens to the fact that she needs to declare independence from her controlling mother. Wanting her freedom and to find a man of her choosing, Libby leaves home for faraway Denver. She just doesn’t count on being robbed, falling for a wayward sheriff, or being accused of murder.
Sheriff Wade Calder throws down his badge in a quest for revenge. Instead, he takes responsibility for his enemy’s young son. Wanting only to be free, Wade runs into Libby, and she wins what is left of his heart. Unfortunately, he has nothing to offer her until he picks up his badge. His honor is restored, but it may cost Libby her life.
Together they learn the cost of freedom and the wealth of forgiveness.

This isn’t going to be a wonderfully worded review that entices you to read everything you’re about to download. They are what they are, and they’re amazing. You already know all about them. There’s no reason to talk about these stories at all, really. I’m just glad they’re all together, and not going to weigh ten pounds anymore. Carting the hardback volumes around, even just to bed, was ridiculous.

A Path Less Traveled (A Miller’s Creek Novel)

Life is often so hard. This sweet story gives one continual reminders that God is in charge and that through faith in His love for His children, He will see us through our struggles. I was deeply moved by both of Cathy’s works.
Andy Tyler has had to struggle for everything, and starting a new law practice in Miller’s Creek, Texas is no different. Though prepared for business challenges, he’s not prepared for falling in love – especially with yet another woman who will probably abandon him for her career.
Will Andy and Trish be able to see past their limited human understanding to take a path less traveled?

As cozy mysteries go, this one was not disappointing. Author Bonnie Calhoun writes with wit and charm, and a touch of snark. I loved it.
