This series is very entertaining. I love how the author often leaves you with a “cliffhanger”, I feel as if I am reading my favorite tv show! The characters are charming and being fascinated by the idea of homesteading, I enjoy reading about their life on the farm. The innocence is refreshing and its a great read!!

I loved this book. I will say it again. I loved this book. I was moved to tears more than once during the reading of this book. It is not often that I find a Christian book that has so much depth. This book deals with love, faith, death, forgiveness, and the pains of going from childhood to adulthood. We watch David, Laci, and Greg take a tremendous journey, and I felt as though I was taking it with them.

Foundlings (The Peleg Chronicles, book one)

Matthew Christian Harding is a man who’s boldly treading into new territory in the young adult fiction marketplace. His debut novel is nearly impossible to pigeon-hold into conventionally established genres. As a result he’s been looking for a descriptive term for his work. Leviathan literature, behemoth books, young earth dragon fiction, creation literature, and speculative historical fiction are some of the labels you’ll find tentatively attached to Foundlings, the first installment in The Peleg Chronicles.
It was in the days of Peleg when the world was divided. After the flood of Noah, after the Tower of Babel and the dispersion … when beasts were more numerous than men.
Two orphans, Thiery and Suzie.
The Lady Mercy without a protector.
Priests of the dragon, Baal, and the Queen of Heaven are seeking sacrifices for their false gods.
The Death Hunt!
In a land of giants and dragons, and men running from the knowledge of their Creator, wickedness spreads as a plague, but a remnant of faithful souls shine in the darkness.

I admit that I originally chose this book for the title, but it was a true delight to read, with a lovely twist to bring the ending to a beautifully written, heartfelt close. It is a rare type of love story. I highly recommend reading this book!
In 1987 a young boy named Jacob Ramsey fell for a girl named Sara, whose family was visiting for Cicada Song. Little did they realize, however, that their young love would end ten years later during the most shocking moment of Anderson’s history.
Time passes and the next Cicada Song begins. Self-published author Ellis Barnes is invited to Anderson as an attraction and there he meets the quick-witted but guarded Sara, now fully grown and quite lovely. He quickly falls for her but something from Sara’s past prevents her from getting too close. Facing resistance from Jacob Ramsey’s best friend, Stan, and the town drunk, Phil, Ellis is determined to uncover exactly what Sara’s mysterious past is. What he finds will force Ellis to confront a faith-shattering tragedy from his own past, a tragedy that diminished his faith in the Christian church, but also one which might hold the key to overcoming Sara’s private barriers. And what secret does Phil, the town drunk, hold regarding the moment that shattered Sara’s life forever?

This book was well written and very engaging. It’s a Christian book (although not preachy!) with a clear moral message made very believable. The main characters were well defined and easy to relate to. I enjoyed this story and think it would be especially meaningful for teenage readers. Adult readership may like to see more intense background detail in future books featuring different age ranges. The author has a gift for making the characters come to life and leaves you wanting more!
The artist in Cal begs to paint Raine’s ivory skin, high cheek bones, and internal sparklers behind her eyes, but falling for her would caterwaul him into his parents’ life. No thanks. The girl was self-righteous waiting to happen. Mom served sanctimony like vegetables, three servings a day, and he had a gut full.
Rec Director Drew taunts her with “Rainey” and calls her an enabler. He is so infernally there like a horsefly—till he buzzes back to his ex.
Raine’s brother tweaks. Her dream of Africa dies small deaths. Will she figure out what to fight for and what to free before it’s too late?
For anyone who’s ever wrestled with her dreams.

Light Of Eidon (Legends of the Guardian-King)
Price: FREE
Karen Hancock is the real deal. I haven’t been this excited about a relatively new author in a long time. Her debut novel, Arena, was fantastic, a stunning merger of science fiction and Christian fiction. Now, with her second book, she begins a fantasy series dubbed Legends of the Guardian-King, a storyline pitting good against evil in an otherworldly mediaeval setting. There is an element of sword and sorcery here, and I could not help but wonder just how effectively the author of Arena would deal with the grim realities of battle and bloodshed and mine the depths of evil in the hearts of men. Well, Hancock nails it – it’s as simple as that. The Light of Eidon is just exquisitely rendered fantasy that keeps you turning the pages deep into the night. It’s dark, grim, sometimes bloody, but ultimately imbued with an essential spirituality that places it on a far different plane than run-of-the-mill fantasy.

Heartless (Tales of Goldstone Wood Book #1)

Fairytales are the timeless joy of the fantasy genre. Readers thrive off of them, whether it’s retellings or variations of our favorite stories. What gets readers into more of a frenzy then the classic Fairytale? Why, an original tale that is clearly worthy of the classics. That is exactly what Heartless is.
Una, smitten instead with a more dashing prince, refuses Aethelbald’s offer–and ignores his warnings. Soon the Dragon King himself is in Parumvir, and Una, in giving her heart away unwisely, finds herself in grave danger. Only those courageous enough to risk everything have a hope of fighting off this advancing evil.
