The end of the story is poignant and sweet…Alfred fulfills his life’s purpose by bringing happiness and joy to a special little boy. Recommended for children of all ages.

Janette Fuller

One Little Christmas Tree: A Children’s Christmas Picture Book is a short book with really cute color pictures that will warm the heart of anyone who reads it.

Kids love this book! It especially speaks to families who choose a live tree every year or have done so in the past.

Alfred is a young tree at Carl’s Christmas Tree Farm in beautiful Spruce Creek, North Carolina. As all trees do, Alfred starts out with big hopes about being picked each Christmas to be a wonderfully decorated tree for the family he ‘inherits.’ Time passes and Alfred becomes disappointed that he has not been picked yet. To comfort him, his friend, Mr. Phipps, urges him to be patient and that one day he will be welcomed into a warm, inviting home for the perfect family.

Does Alfred get his wish?

Will he become a welcome addition to a loving family?

The True Christmas Story

Dana S. Chisholm

Price: FREE

I cannot wait to share this book with my children! The Christmas traditions in my family include learning and remembering the true meaning of Christmas, just as this book is written. Author Dana Chisholm put a book on the market that is much needed in the eyes of children today! This would make a wonderful gift for any family with children of all ages!

The True Christmas Story is a colorful retelling of the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ. Taken from the Gospel of St. Luke, young readers can begin to incorporate the True Christmas Story into their lives and holiday traditions celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.

In my home growing up, every Christmas we had a tradition of reading the Christmas story. All families have different ways of celebrating Christmas, and Santa may or may not be a part of that. In my family, Santa brought one or two surprises every year, but he wasn’t the focus of our holiday. I don’t even remember when Santa faded away.

I do remember making birthday cakes for Jesus, and singing Him Happy Birthday on Christmas Eve. And then every year on Christmas morning, my dad built a fire in the fireplace (in sunny San Diego where it was never needed) and before presents were opened we read the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke. We prayed as a family, thanking God for the greatest gift of all, baby Jesus. After celebrating the real reason for Christmas we could dive right into opening presents.

Imagine my delight when I discovered the art of VS Sheridan. This retelling of the Christmas story is not meant to replace opening the Bible. But, when I saw her art, the first thing that ran through my mind was squealing children everywhere running with excitement to read the true story of Christmas. My prayer is that each child would have the true Christmas story as a tradition in their celebration… and Jesus a place in their heart.
